Lol, I hated mine too! It was so far off from doing anything good, I got rid of it.
I got rid of mine too for the same reason. I've kept every other VONATS car I've built so far with exception of the Falcon, and the only reason I sold it was because a fellow member showed interest in it. Not an eBay flipper.

 The Falcon is safe-and-sound here in South Texas, no plans for an eBay flip on that one.

Looks like a Kyosho double dare body or at least a replica of one :)

Good deal.

Have you driven it yet?

I have driven The Falcon lightly, I put on a box-inspired body and Tamiya wheels (I will update your original post with other details).
((I have the green body and modern wheels stored safely for (hopefully) a trip to the VoNats someday.))

Here is a current pic:

I have driven the raider I got from Vintage AE on a dusty loose outdoor track with old school spike tires and it did great. I was passing short course trucks with ease. Too bad I snapped both of the stock dogbones. Then I took it too our local indoor high traction clay track and it was junk. Switched to some modern panther tires on B4 wheels and it was amazing. It flew thru the sweeper but wasn't the best in the tight hairpins. Landed great off the jumps and would power slide awesome. I'm going to build a second one to start racing in a vintage class as my lap times were close to stock buggy times.

i can now add a tamiya stadium blizter to my list of vintage cars i've raced on a track.
it wasn't too bad at all, had to give it toe in to compensate for the bump steer and i ran stock, rock hard, tires.
with modern rubber it would have placed much higher.

Raced a Losi LXT, Tamiya Clod Buster, and an old school AE RC10 at the Vonats this year.
