See, there's your problem right there..... judging from recent experience, wood screws are supposed to be installed on to your chassis, not your tyres (or tires)... of course, it goes without saying that they have to be oversized, an inch and a half minimum....
I do think it's amazing that you mentioned driving one-handed, and straight away Thumbs is here to offer advice.....

Thumbs has offered to lend a hand but I don't know that I trust him! I heard he invented the reverse stranger
Please tell me I'm not the only one that knows what that is lol

I had to look it up!

Sounds like the "Stallion" spray we used in Highschool!
