Next on the check list is making CF plates to relocate the body mounts to the GT2 positions, make a CF chassis brace/battery holder and mounting the electronics.
A test drive on Friday before wrapping it up for Christmas would be awesome!

The body stays clear for now.. We are giving the kid a gift card to the hobby store so he can go pick out his own colors and help paint it.

I made 2 posts to hold the pack in place, a cf brace to keep motor/trans from lifting under acceleration and a cf battery strap.
Another trip to the LHS got me some thumb screws for the battery strap and some new body mounts.
I also made a cf plate to move the body mounts in and back close to the shock tower so they line up with the marked spots on the GT2 body.




Up front I found out you can keep the stock GT front body pegs if you replace the bracket with a flat piece of CF.
I need to make up a new taller piece of CF plate that I'll shape into a mini shock tower looking piece to mount the pegs on.



Over all the GT2 body is fitting nicely.

How is this for weight distribution?

I have a 1/16 ball drive in the center pan bolt.


I took it for a test drive tonight.
This thing is more fun than a bucket of monkeys.
Gearing is spot on. Runs straight and quick for a stock brush motor.

All the electronics are in.. I need to clean up the battery and motor wiring but it's a runner..
I hijacked the Futaba MC 210CB ESC from the gold pan and put in the FlySky FS-GT2B radio.

I also redesigned the rear body post mount.. This is much cleaner and gets the posts right over the shock tower just like the GT2.

First trip out he busted a shock rod end and broke the bumper.
#7217 is the part to get right?
LHS should have that in stock tomorrow..

First day was kinda rough on the truck.. I tried to take him to a nice wide open space but he still found something to ram into
No damage other than the bumper and shock mount.. We were still able to run 2 packs through it having to put the shock back on a few times and by the end he was getting much better. We finished up over at the skate park. It's a blast on the half pipe and flies like a champ..

We'll get it patched up, painted and try to hit the local track on Sunday.

Thanks.. I just need to figure out what I'll do next.. Either fix up the gold pan or whip up a few carbon pans and see if I can trade up enough parts to build a 10T or another GT.

I have a few parts left over from upgrades and conversions on the GT. 4 shocks off ebay in the mail yesterday and a T2 body on the shelf.
piece by piece or find another roller for cheap.
