I was referring to the rear arm mounts. Pages 27 and 28:

Looking from the sides, the rear arms should be pitched up facing the front. Having them on the wrong sides removes the anti-squat and will give it 0 degrees of toe-in (which you can see in your first pics). Basically it'll have little rear traction when accelerating, it'll probably be squirrelly in the straights and not corner that well.

I went through pages 27 and 28 and I guess I am missing something, as I can't tell what is incorrect.

Part # 6360. They have left and right sides and you have them on the wrong sides. They seem identical with a quick look, but they are different and the rear end geometry is way off when installed incorrectly.

I want to thank all of you for the help. I wouldn't be getting this done right without the advice.

I ordered some screws and c-clips and some of those sticky wall hanger strips to mount the remaining pieces to the tub. Tires came in today, mounted them and gave the wheels a peroxide bath and I wired in a battery connector I had from an old charger.

Can't wait to get the rest together.

On a side note, you guys have a trained eye! I would have never noticed those mounts even if I knew to look for them. Thanks again.

Alright, I swapped the mounts around.







Now I'm waiting on turnbuckles, steering arm, battery box, shock cups, a screw kit, and the body.

I was looking into ways to paint the body. I'm thinking a clear wing and a simple color with masked off windows. I don't think I want to tackle a multi color job.

even if you run the kit stickers, even the re-pro nes. a basic color. and the sticker graphics will help ya.

Sorry, I see so many cars put together wrong it's sort of a pet peeve of mine now and I just have to point it out. lol

Recommendations? I'd spring for a cheap electronic speed control for brushed motors and ditch that way old-school resistor unit and servo. I'm seeing decent units from HobbyWing and HPI on eBay for less than $20.

That's what I'm thinking. Clear Windows and wing, a basic color and the decal kit.

The turnbuckle kit came in and it is a no go. It won't adjust short enough for what I need even after cutting them down.

The steering horn I got is threaded for a ball joint and I didn't notice it. I'm going to get one for the metal rod.

I've thought about it, I'm probably going to get it going as it is and then make any changes then.

Associated doesn't have a turnbuckle kit for the original RC10 or Classic. You have to piece them together from existing available parts which come in pairs. All of them will be shorter than the CE/Team/Worlds cars (except for the center link on the steering cranks) which is why the kit you bought isn't working.

On an original or Classic, you should need FOUR 1.25" turnbuckles (part # 6261) for the four camber links, TWO 1.65" turnbuckles (part # 6262) for the steering rods, and ONE 1.00" turnbuckle (part # 6260) for the steering center link. If you bought kit # 6259, you already have one 1.00" turnbuckle and two pair of 1.65" turnbuckles so you don't need to re-buy everything.

Yeah, I only needed the small one in the kit. It works well with some rpm rod ends . I was trying to build two matching turnbuckles. I went ahead and ordered another kit to get one more so it matches. Aide to side.

I cleaned up the magnum jr and put some batteries in it today and everything seems to work . The car moved under its own power for the first time in over twenty years. Still a little tweaking and repairing to do before I can run it, but it's looking hopeful.
