This is a magnificent effort you are putting in. I do a lot of restorations for personal vehicles and I know just how time consuming each process can be. True dedication.

It's been a long time bleaching in a bleach bath...6 weeks or so. Next was to boil the bleach out. This took two 10 minute attempts. Then came the Earl Grey tea bath, at 10 minutes in warm team. You may notice there are a set of Cadillac parts too, these are the test parts from another fire rescue. The test parts went through the same process, but with the exception of over dying them. I put them in boiling tea, which took to the parts a lot quicker than anticipated. I threw them in some water with a drop of bleach lol...1 liter of water per 1 drip of bleach, it was all I had. I forgot I ran out of bleach. I left those overnight and they came out perfect. The Edinger parts on the other hand, most came out perfect. I did notice that the 6 gear trans case, and both the front and rear arms reacted differently to the bleach and tea. It's possible that these are mad of a different blend of nylon.

Rod, would you like me to rework the odd looking Edinger parts, or shall I put those on the Cadillac car? I can use the trans case and arms from the Cadillac car on the Edinger for a matching set.

Just keep them on the Edinger, they must be a different compound and are original! Great work BTW!

Because when you bleach them, they become more white than the original colour, therefore you have to dye them to get them to look like the original colour.

I had to bleach them to get them all to a consistent colour first though.

Yes I understand why the parts were being bleached it was the tea part of the process I was wondering about.

Got the car back from Anthony yesterday. It looks great. I just tidied up the wiring and put new AE connectors on the wires. I also put in an Edinger stock motor, as the mod Reedy was melted.

I am still looking for a clear Edinger gear cover, eom or copy. Also need Good Year Rears.

Thanks for bringing it to work Rod! It's looks way better now some fresh connectors, electronics mounted, temporary dust cover and rubber, even though they rears are just the re release ones. You should post a couple of pics. I know it's not fully complete yet, but it will be a little white before you get a hold of the dust cover and Goodyear tires.

It looks great! Thanks again for your help VAE! Rear rubber are used Cadillac and crappy TBG gear cover but looks ok for now. If you guys can please help me source GoodYear rears and a clear gear cover?

Turned out great. Thankfully that body wasn't on it in the fire.

Just WOW it looks cleaner than before. I wish I could help you with the missing bits but these are like hens teeth. I'm actually also after a pair of rear Goodyear tires for my Gene Husting replica.
