Great build. I love those shocks on it! they look right at home.

Took the buggy to the track today for a little shakedown. The track was muddy in parts and dusty in others, basically really poor conditions for running. Who cares, still fun.

When I could get traction, the buggy handled great and had good power from the Dynamite Tazer Twin motor. Jumping behavior was very nice and I'll probably add a little weight to the nose to make it perfect.

Then, on a light tumble, the front bulkhead let go.... til next time.









And a crap video. Had to prop the phone on the fence, since nobody wanted to come play with me today.

I can only recommend you loosen the slipper a bit with such low grip. Or feather throttle the car a bit more. I understand grip was crap but this is out of shape all the time it accelerates...

I've got a NIP white bulkhead and Trinity brace I'll install for the next round.

I was so anxious to run the car that I didn't spend the time to adjust the ESC, slipper, diff, or select the right tires. . And I had my rere Worlds and RB6 that I wanted to run in the small window of time I had available. Next time, the focus will be on one buggy at a time!
But, I have that restored Ultima RB Type-R that needs to be run.....

Looks like we are almost in need of having someone come up with a repro front bulkhead like OldRC did with the XX front bulkhead :/

I've fallen into this too as I don't get to track often so I bring a few cars. Lately though realized I don't give each enough then when I am there. I too am trying to focus on one each time. But I'll probably fail.

I too, try to spend time with each of my buggies and trucks while at the track. It usually just causes confusion and anxiety for me. Lately I have been trying to focus on just one of each. But then I feel that I'm neglecting the others.

I'm surprised by all the issues you've had with the front bulkhead. I've been running Jrx style vehicles since '89 and I don't think I've had this much trouble. I've wondered why no one has really tried making new bulkheads. I remember someone selling printed ones on eBay a while back, but they were still expensive and didn't stay up for sale long.

The NIP bulkhead that I built the car with definately had something strange going on. It was very brittle right out of the pack. I wonder if it spent too long hanging in the sun at a hobby shop during its life.

So, put in a new white bulkhead and a Trinity brace and added a little weight to the nose. I took only this buggy to practice this time so I could focus on the setup. I backed the slipper way off and during bench testing I noted that the Dynamite Tazer does not have as much punch as my other motors. I played around with the punch setting, but never got it "right". I may put a traditional motor and esc in it so I can have adjustable timing and drag brake.

Track was dry (at first), so traction was limited, but a pair of Jconcepts 3Ds helped a bunch. I got a full pack through with no problems. A local fast guy (who was born the same year as the Pro SE) drove the buggy and liked the way it handled. He wants to borrow it to try to beat the B6s and 22s at the next race.

Halfway through the second pack, I had a big crash and broke a steering bellcrank. Then a biblical storm rolled in... so the day was done.

I like to cut before painting so I can see whats going on. That and a sharp razor ... and a couple beers to steady the hand.

Wow, you broke one of my rigid arms? But then I noticed you are not running a servo saver?! I have crashed mine a bunch, even let my noobie wife drive and crash into things. But I run a servo saver like everyone did back in the day.

That is still crazy, that must have been a good crash.

This might be a great time to do a anew version that adds bracing between the L.
