Does anyone know what this hole is for?
It's countersunk and sized for a 3mm screw.

Well JT, you might be close. Maybe it's for "boost" of another kind.
The screw hole is about exactly center of where the ESC is to be located so maybe Kyosho was planning for some kind of mount. I dunno.

The chassis isn’t well suited for a shorty, as it would be really easy to short the terminals against the chassis. I redrew my upper and beefed it up around the perimeter. The battery strap locks into the rear bulkhead and a single post holds the front. Not sure how the balance of the car will be, the weight is further back but it’s also lighter being a shorty so weight can be added at the nose. It could also be used with a traditional pack without the battery strap to allow easy access to the receiver and speed control mounted in the tub. We will see

Replacement parts for the new car are now available from Kyosho America.
I've gone ahead and placed an order for all the plastic parts and I couldn't help noticing these parts on tree UT002 (parts 6 - 10).
For the kit version of UT002, these parts have been removed.
Does anyone know what car these parts are designed to fit?

the part far left looks like a body mount but the rest ? what other body types were fitted to this chassis ?

To me, I suspect it is part of a battery hold down system for running shorty packs lengthwise. Those darn copycats

The Ultima platform (specifically the Ultima II) were used for countless numbers of “scale car series” vehicles

Maybe it means something else is coming ?

For sure, but it doesn’t match up with anything from the past. It’s something new coming for sure. It looks like pieces to hold the battery from sliding and a block to keep the end in place. Also a “knob” possibly for a quick release latch. That’s what I’m seeing.

What are the parts under the gear cover for?

spacers for the motor plate/brace, support for the gear spacers inside the trans, and wire guide to keep the wires to the motor tidy (I did not find it to fit well personally)

Awesome build...probably my favorite Kyosho re-re & I've built a re-re Turbo Scorpion, Beetle, Javelin, Optima & a Turbo Optima.

Finished it last night & ran it today. I'm a basher only & will say it would better do with softer tires (front and rear) on asphalt or concrete. Mine is equipped with 10.5 turn brushless & it slid about like it was on skates.

As a whole the build was great, the quality of the parts & instructions were incredible & I love the end result.

Thank you Kyosho!
