Now, this part is a little interesting, at least to me

I hope you guys like it.....it's taken a lot of searchin, work, time and help from a friend in Spain that I know some of you guys have heard of/ordered from (Mr. Cesar Velayos Enriquez) to make up some custom, one off, labels. These are brand new Panasonic/Sanyo 2500mah SCR nicad cells, they call em Superscr's. I ordered em in 6 cell stick packs, disassembled them, added the base red heatshrink, label, then clear heatshrink and assembled them into saddle packs. I think Mr. Enriquez knocked my idea of modifying the OG 1400 SCR labels to reflect 2500mah out of the park!

The latest update. I'd been meaning to get around to shortening up the wires on the esc to give it a more cleaner look. (Before pic first,After last) I think she turned out pretty good and I managed not to melt the dean connector while making the jumper wire. These parts look a lot smaller than I remember as a kid!

Been a while since I added to the thread...but progress is being made....bumper fab...since I couldn't find a decent OG pan car bumper I liked that matched my old one (see id photo), I decided to go DIY. Covers about 85% of both front wheels (TRC Style) and fits under almost all '80's bodies. Drawing added in photos in case anybody might be interested. Suggest doing up a cardboard fab to spec first...easier to judge the degree of kick up you might want before moving to the kydex. I actually went about 35deg. instead of the 45deg. on the drawing. I ordered 4 sets of every size RJ speed body posts...so should be cutting and mounted bodies soon...I hate cutting lexan, wish me luck....just gotta find somebody to paint em up....then,finally, track bound for this build.

The custom labels on those cells are a nice touch, props to Mr. Enriquez for the killer work. I’m really thankful for what you share, it’s always great to see these vintage rides getting the attention they deserve.

Ok....I think I figured out this video link thing.....So, FINALLY, after 2 years of hunting for parts and building an out door and indoor Composite Craft Predator Lynx....and 36 years after my last run with this, or any other RC car, at the '89 Oval Nationals.....here is a one lap shake down run video....and a full course run video (but got off the track a little early as the gas cars jumped on). Just hit select all and open in another window....I'm a computer for dummies kinda old guy...best I could do to get these videos up.

Your runs were very pleasant to see, very smooth and the car looked great on the track... And for sure, your pit table was amazing : clean and super organized...
I need to check what I have recorded as well... I may have some nice vids as well...

Taking the body off after a solid run, and finding out you guessed fairly good on the set up after 36 years...you couldn't remove my smile with a jack hammer!

But.....I did manage to test the limits of the old Composite Craft graphite antenna at the end of the straightaway

15 full pack runs over three days....and the old Novak Digi Peak didn't skip a beat. Dropped the packs down with 10W 30 Ohm resistors each night and hit'em again the next day

Since as of today my car and I are another year older.....I thought I'd post up some more photos from the best birthday gift I've had in a looong time.....being able to run again! Just back home yesterday from a fantastic 4-day weekend of meeting new friends in Montlucon, France (Mini Racing du Centre/MRC) that share the same passion.....running our vintage rides and although my French isn't that good (Selma, Alabama) everyone was welcoming with open arms! Forever grateful to have the chance to trade the shelf for the pit table and the track. In the end, 15 full pack runs, one slipped pinion gear that thankfully didn't strip the spur, one broken graphite antenna (too aggressive at the end of the straight, one time was all it took

) and one bent king pin 3rd day in from brushing the berms a bit tight.
