Doug,
This car is as cool as they come. Is that purchased pieces or did you custom make it? Whichever really a neat car. Did you ever think of building a Land Speed Record car like Cliff Lett's and trying for the indoor course record? Don't they have a bicycle track in Oakbrook or the Velodrome in Indianapolis where you could run a car like that?
Where is the track you run this car at somewhere near us? I'd like to see it run someday. I think I've exhausted the total number questions allowed in a single post.

There is a drag strip in Lynwood, IL. I ran this past weekend at a track in Union Grove, by the real drag strip. Unfortunately, drag racing isn't the most organized group of R/C racers I have ever been around.

Things tend to be run like a bunch of guys running cars up and down the streets...
They are racing this Sunday, I believe, but I'm not planning on making it this weekend. I'll let you know the next time I'm preparing to go out and race.
As for the velodromes, this car isn't really made to turn much at all. The steering throw is down to about 20% with approximately 25° of caster. Pretty much a straight line car only.
There are plenty of cars faster than this, but I'd love to build something capable of insane speeds. The T/F dragster sitting here should be a 100+ car on lipos and brushless power.
BTW, you can buy kits of these kits (or a Top Fuel, Funny Car or Pro Stock) from Grand Motorsports, RJ Speed, Lockman or Team Walbern. Most guys are running out of the box cars, but I tend to screw with a kit before it hits the track. Motors are a tough find, but many guys are going to the brushless and LiPo route, so getting a car on track quickly is getting a lot easier. It's pretty fun to come out and drag race, that's for sure. And I don't have to worry about my piss-poor depth perception holding me back while driving, either.
Did I get 'em all?

Yah, good enough for this hour of the night. Maybe I'll think of a few more for tomorrow while I'm sleeping. Thanks.

Geeeeze with all those Folger coffee (red tubs) around...
There was enough caffeine in there to finish each of those cars/trucks and have them on a shelf in box art form.

My advisor says you need more shelves; only runners are allowed to be stacked like this.
Here's what's an my desktop. Got to admit I didn't actually work much ON the desktop lately, even after the clean up it was still packed with parts I couldn't decide where to put

They are grasshopper units, I think you can get them from tamiya still.
I actually wanted the frog knobbies for the rear or subaru brats all around but couldn't find them in the haystack at the LHS
