Well i made myself a hinge pin brace from .32 aluminum (polished it up, the circle thing is a reflection from the bumper). Added a 17.5 brushless motor in there (need to find a rear motor guard they released as a option). Also if i cant find a new body, i might use this proline butterfly body i have, it uses the roll cage but has side "wings" i guess to cover a horizontal battery (i plan to run inside chassis). and the last one is a project car i got cheap i plan to restore, maybe to factory spec after all the new parts i found. Also the steering parts are from a lazer, for when i mount the servo sideways, waiting for the spring/nut/mounts from kyoshoamerica.com

Got bitten by the ultima bug pretty badly huh
That butterfly will look very handsome on it.
Any ideas for the paintscheme yet?
 gold and black seem like very fitting for this car; Miller, guinness or JPS maybe

You should really try flipping the front arms over for the extra wheelbase: that half-inch will make a very big difference.

They look just like mini aircraft turnbuckles, maybe one thread would be left handed and the other side would be right handed threads, how freak'n cute!

Just noticed this thread, great looking Ultima you have there! While it doesn't perform quite as good as my RC10 (mainly due to its infamous under steering) I really love running my Ultima against other vintage buggies in our local meetings.

Have a look at my Ultima (http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2068), I'm running a butterfly body on it which looks great although I do agree the original body looks better, but since I have a carbon chassis installed I need the side wings to cover it.

Did you get your servo and lipo's yet?

i did set up the lazer steering and it fits/works wonderfully.

I ordered a Low profile servo last night, the futaba one, and a Orion 3200 Lipo also, along with metric pinions, tires, a LRP sphere competion Brushless ESC, and a bunch of other stuff lol.

should be here within a few days. In the meantime i am going to restore/buff up a used Option Kyosho rear bumper peice to protect that motor and rear.. will probably get to it tonight. build is looking good so far, cant wait to run it.

main thing i am trying to find is a set of HPI 5 star Front buggy wheels in chrome. cant seem to have ANY luck anywhere getting a set. i have black as a backup, but would love to run some chromes

how do you mount the rear motor guard with the litesink and roll-cage? I don't have a litesink , nor rollcage so haven't tried it, but it loks like it's gonna be kinda hard to fit all.
Thinking about it: the bottom side of the motorgaurd will be hard to fit with the robinson adjustable mount also.
Curious of how you gonna make it all work together.

i mounted it last night, didnt take photos yet, but fits perfectly with no real modifications

so here it is, fits like a glove, no modifications needed. the robinson rear end holds the plate in snuggly, and everything else works around it.

the bottom 2 pics are some recent purchases, the hubs are from japan (needed replacements anyway), and 2 gold option house dogbones

made a custom "rack" to hold the ESC and reciever, and also a peice of foam on the bottom will hold the lipo down in place.

mounted the low profile servo too with the lazer zxr steering
