Those are Proline. 200F is the product #.

I'll just use the 9005073 Tamiya Rough Rider wheels and bearings and make a new alloy front axle

Alloy wheel covers for those RR wheels are still available. There are a few people who still make them.

Meanwhile, back at the Ranch…A Restoration Summary:

Basically I tried to keep the car setup similar to the way I left it in about 1986, but with a few period-suitable improvements to make it fun.
Notes on the Car going in, from memory:

Car: #6010 Unstamped. Acquired winter of 1984 from Radio Controlled Hobbies (RCH), 19th Street Address, Costa Mesa CA. Ball bearing kit purchased separately.
Body: The #6160 in the kit was swapped in-store for a painted version, along with a matching small wing. Note the rear of the body and the wing are long gone, but the paint job was fantastically done by someone. I just touched up the bits that wore away where the tub edges rub through over time. Driver was painted by me at 14 yr old.
Parts were dyed black and frp dyed red during the initial build.
Front tires: Tamiya Rough Rider fronts. I still have a handful although a bit too weathered/cracked to hold up to running today.
Electronics: Futaba Magnum Jr. S28 servos and MSC set aside in lieu of a S32H and a Novak1.
Motor: A Stock 05 Yokomo, the best looking one I had.
Drivetrain: Stock bearings and gears.
Steering: CRP “Heavy Duty” connections. Taken from my SRB and added during the initial build.
Ran the car a fair amount and in mid 1980’s, hung it up, still relatively stock with a the gear cover replaced with an aftermarket version, a JG bumper added. Lightening holes drilled along sides of the tub, and nose and motor plates were cut down just before it was retired permanently.

Restoration Notes:

Chassis: Re-milled the tub to clean up the ugliness. Took too much away where the tub folds back in towards the bulkhead, but thankfully the battery improves the stiffness here. Going to have to be careful if I run it now I think.
Parts were re-dyed to freshen them up a bit.
Shocks: Original Light gold bodies and shafts were extremely worn, inside and out, so that set was set aside for a stripped/polished set. Re-used the coil hardware though.
Replaced all the 4-40 rod as it was chewed up and oxidized as one would expect. I had a drawer of old ball cups, so I found some of the better ones I could salvage. All are sans hex.
Body: Just a bit of Lexan polish and a refitting of the original driver. The Santa Cruz Skateboards livery is as it was in 1984. Just added the little flag (a newer AE design) because I had a body post hole to cover.
Spoiler: A Yokomo one left over from my 834b restoration. It had been painted black already with some extremely durable stuff (bumber paint?). Added side dams using thin lexan cut out of boxes of (Home Depot) finishing nails and screws of all things (easily replaceable). Dams are sized to for the (ROAR and ORRCA legal) 1.25” Autographics, ‘cause the driver has to be able to see out for crissakes.
Antenna: I ran with a CRP item BID, but that was pretty fuzzy and bent up. LHS still sells the ribbed yellow tubing in the aero section! Easy replacement.
Front Rims: Proline Rough Riders from a NIP ebay find. I ran aluminum outers BID, but that makes less sense as soon as one starts milling away pieces of chassis.
Rear Wheels: MRP 4083’s, basically the Holiday buggy tires, because all thoe other Holiday Buggies were closer to bald than I am. Rims were red set I had in the parts box, with some metric “Kyosho” slotted screw hardware added to match the fronts

Future:

I seem to remember the Novak crapping out, but don’t know if it was a fuse or what. So I will try to get the tires spinning at some point. “Til then, it’s up on the wall. I just noticed I forgot to put the front sway bar back on as well.

Anyone have a set of these front proline 200F wheels available for sale ?

Of all the tamiya wheels I have, I don't have a set of these, and now find myself in need of a set of fronts.

The 1.5 black and Chrome fronts?

I'm not sure of the size, and I do have a set of black and chrome proline fronts but I believe this is a different size. The outer hub of the wheel shown here is of a larger diameter to fit the rough rider tires it seems. I tried a set of the proline 1.5 dia front wheels last night and it did not fit the Taliya Righ Rider tire which had me puzzled.
I will take some dimensions tonight to make sure we are talking apples.

you are spot on scr8p, I just measured everything!
That is the problem it seems. The proline wheels I have like for the Halsey Replica are 1.57" dia. wheels, and the Tamiya Rough Rider tires require a 1.75" dia. wheel which is different than all the ones I have.

So basically I need to look for either these 200F wheels by Proline or use the Tamiya ones with the 5 pointed star spoke pattern.

crp had 1.75 chrome plated outers for the tamiya rims, too.

After viewing this build that Brian has here of his old racer, it made me recall one of the first times I went to an organized race which was around late 1984 or very early 1985 and prepped my RC10 for the race with those front wheels and tires, which just happened to be the hot ticket item, along with the Holiday Buggy rear tires on stock Associated wheels. I also had a set of the proline front knobbies mounted on wheels (like my Halsey Replica) just in case I needed them.

Now to try and find a set of these wheels may prove to be tougher than expected. I may have to just settle for the Tamiya star spoke pattern front wheels.

Brian, this is an awesome build you have here and allowed this old fart to remember yet another detail from my early racing years. Thank-you!
