The piece is somewhere on the floor 😑 I can’t find it.

I’m thinking about some CA gel in there might work or some putty that hardens to fill the hole.
Put tape on one side to use as a backing. Fill the hole flush with baking soda and then drip super thin CA glue until it barely makes a slight dome. Let it dry and sand smooth. Peel tape off backside & done.

Even some carbon fiber vinyl wrap or similar to inlay?

Doesn't this seem like it should have been in the box with the 40th?

Or at least sent out as a after the fact bonus to those that ordered?

For all the issues I have with the kit, apparently AE hosed hobby shops internationally. They really should figure out how to deliver the kits promised.

Yes, it does. I've foregone the 40th kit. But I really just have to have one of these pins!

If somebody wants a pin, they'll order a pin. Nothing wrong with that. I'm sure there are more pin enthusiasts than we realize. A corkboard just COVERED in commemorative pins. Categorized, alphabetized, and chronologicalized.

you're correct. It's just that it makes you feel like now you need the pin to go w/ your 40th. Drop that pin in your cart when buying that extra set of tires. The way I rationalize it is that people buy art for gazillions of $... to look at it. We get to look, touch, use.. and smell & taste those tires, old parts, and burnt speed controls.

What bearings do you use to replace those felt donuts on the gearbox?

3/8 x 5/8.

Note that you can cause a bind with those as it fights the two bearings in the lower gear. There are a few ways to fix that and it's been covered numerous times so I won't go into it.

Regarding box art, I saw a YouTube video that claims the box art is more orange than it should be. Should "box art" be orange, or PS 19 camel yellow backed with orange? Also, how is everyone painting the black portions?

This is camel yellow (full can), backed in silver.

I painted this one a few years ago after reading somewhere that it was important to back the camel yellow with orange.
As you can see, they were wrong.

Camel yellow backed with silver looks much closer to boxart IMHO.
