i did pick up a blue one awhile back, but i haven't tried to mount it yet. i know there's gonna be a few issues with it. first would be the fact that the lower mounting hole is cut off the motor plate. second, since the plate is set a little more forward, depending on the size of the spur gear, it'll most likely rub the gear cover. three, it'll have to be notched out for the right outdrive to clear. as well as notching it to clear the arm mount.

Let's bring this one back after 10 years.

Last week while at the track, my wife asked me if I'd let her drive my car. I told her no of course. So I said to her that I would throw a car together for her. Nothing too fancy, just try to use up some stuff I already have here so I don't have to buy all kinds of stuff (since there's not a ton of money to go around). After looking around the r/c dungeon, I came up with this old build. The car was never finished, and shortly after my last post, I believe I started taking parts off of it to complete my '08 Vonats car (definitely the RPM Worlds arms). It basically became a bare chassis with a zip-loc bag of parts.

I kinda figure..... if I don't build it as a runner for her I'll probably never do anything with it. So that's what is gonna happen. I'll be using an under tray on it though so it doesn't get hammered too bad.

First thing I did was soak the yellowed parts in peroxide for the day in the sun. Yes, the RPM parts too. I wanted to try something with parts I don't really care about. And yes, they turned their beautiful shade of green/yellow.
When i got home from work, I took the parts right from the peroxide and dropped them in a pot of boiling water. Green/yellow went away almost instantly and I'm left with some pretty nice looking parts.
So here's is were it's at for the moment. Still missing a lot of stuff, but if I dig around a bit harder I'm sure i can come up with more. It'll be getting Dynotech arms at some point. I have almost all of the hinge pins, I have turnbuckles, ball cups, shocks (minus the caps), have to get some bearings, etc. But it will get done eventually.

The wife's car is coming along. Still need more parts for it so it's gonna move over to the back burner for a little while.

so - peroxyde the RPM stuff gets them this ugly green tint we all loathe, then boiling makes them white again?!?

Looking like a great car btw... if your wife doesn't run it after she's christened it, and you don't want to keep it, I know someone who would love it

She seems to be fairly excited about having something to run. We will have to see how long it lasts.

I'm curious to see the handling differences in this car compared to my red tub. The front ends are basically the same. The shocks may lean in a slight bit more at the top on this one since I'm not using the same tower. The rear is where it's at. WOIN on the red tub, straight up RPM Worlds on this.

Had the wife out on the tennis courts across the street from our house getting reacquainted with an r/c radio. Been at least 17-18 years since she's driven anything. Her car isn't quite finished. But i'm hoping she drives like Kinwald by the time it's done.

So last week I won another rc10 off ebay. I really only wanted it for the set of RCPS turnbuckles that i have been trying to find for a super long time. But, it also has Worlds towers, MIP bellcranks and early CVD's.
I tore it apart and give everything a good cleaning. While doing so, I decided to let my wife use this one to get more practice before letting her run the blue car.I left the MIP bellcrank in it, but left the original Worlds towers off and put a set of rere Worlds towers on it. Also installed new rere turnbuckles and ball cups. Here's were it's at so far.
