I don't think it is so much of an ad advantage as it is an alternative. The modern brushless motors are SO powerful... if you can run a smaller 380 Brushless.... why not ? The systems are cheaper and lighter. Probably get more run time from the same capacity pack to boot.

I dont really think it is an advantage, for me it was convenience. I put it in because it was there and I wanted to try it out. With the old speedo that came with it, if felt softer on the bottom end, more like a brushed motor (but I know that was the speedo now).

Not only does running my JRX on the track draw spectators, but when they see that little skinny motor in there, it is icing on the cake.

that's one of the best parts about running a jrx2, it draws so many comments, questions and attention.
even at the vonats where there are usually a few, lots of guys comment on how cool they are, then they get a load of how well the short wheel base rotates and then they are in awe. lol

Been forever since I updated this thread....car has sat for a while, shocks were "stolen" for my Gen 1 buggy racer. So a few weeks back I was able to do some horse trading and got a full set of JRXT orange wheels. Just what this car needed to get the juices flowing again. So after a little work in the garage this afternoon, its back to running under its own power. I will need to snag a body for it, and figure out how to get some rear body mounts on there...using the XX retro trans took the stock JRXT rear mount "flanges" away from me.

Felt pretty good in the front yard test area, I know, those are front tires on the rear...worked fine in grass honestly :)

since it has a pro rear shock tower? maybe change to a LXT rear shock tower, it has a sport for a body mount, but a jrxt bed is flat then top corners of tower might hit,
maybe gt/t2 rear body mounts?

I thought about the LXT rear tower, but using the 5 link, I am thinking the geometry would be way off. I have a Slash rear body mount that will probably find its way on there. Now to work on race tires and JRT or JRXT body.

So, I actually found that horrendous body that came with it here:

I did fab up a rear body mount:

And after quite a bit of "goof off" type cleaner, here is the body:

And with the help of my son, we used my cell phone to capture a quick test run in the yard. 27T stock motor, Venom Shorty lipo :)

don't ya just hate the 4-40 nut at the top of the gear cover? I use an RC10 original steering linkage clamp instead...

Better shot of the AE double slipper set up...yes, lazy man's gear cover, I havent put the effort into getting the right one for the slipper.

what parts did you used to convert to the b4 slipper? I have a jrx pro on the way, and would like to fit a slipper to the lrm tranny. im just having a hell of a time finding the top shaft from and se or lxt

Standard Hydradrive top shaft, slight spacer and B4 slipper parts/pads/spur.

No, your right, you need the Pro SE/LXT hydradrive top shaft. Maybe hit up Seabass or another machinist and see if they can spin up a few?
