Thanks for the info...Actually, I just swapped them out, and put the stock ball ends on the DS's rear....Even swap.

No race this weekend, and I have to work anyway....So here I sit, ordering goodies from Tower.

I just ordered cone washers from TheRCProShop.com...My bank account is hurting also...To much stuff to order...What is hurting me the most is shipping...1 dollar for cone washers but the total came to 8.35 with shipping Can't wait to see how much stuff goes up even higher in the next 4 yrs Shipping has gotten ridiculous...

Yeah, freight has gotten ridiculous....For that kind of money, I would've checked Lowes or done without. Just be glad you didn't have to order tractor parts.

I'm in Winter Haven, and just got back into racing when Yupers opened a dirt oval in Auburndale (down from the big flea market). I don't really know of too many other tracks around here, except SS in Tampa. Eventually, I might make the trip over there, when I can get respectable on the track again. I'll have to check out the Ocala track sometime.

No, I tried using short shafts in the rear shocks. It lowered the car, and it doesn't tend to roll around as much. I went to the track today, but didn't race. My transponder hasn't come in, so it was pointless. I did get some track time on a prepped surface, and think I went too far in setup. My problem is similar to last week's first qualifier, when I couldn't get a bite on a wet track. It tightens up as the day goes on, but now I don't know if I went too far on my adjustments, or it's the track conditions. Years ago, when tires had stiff sidewalls and pin spikes, you hooked up on a wet track. Now it's the opposite. I'm running the same tires (custom works) as most everyone, but I think I made it too stiff in the rear. My biggest problem is that I'm only able to run on Saturdays, so track time is limited.
My next thing is to try out some different rear tires, and see how they work on a wet track.

No, but last time I was there, a guy had a sprint car that was WAY overpowered. Everytime he touched the throttle, it would wheelie all the way down the straight...He was running Pro-Line Road Rage tires. I have a pair, but didn't have them mounted up yesterday.

Maybe try Shoe Goo stripe treatment on the Custom Works tires???

The CW tires seem to work decently on a dry track. I think when I used shorter shock shafts, it tightened everything too much. After I got home, I swapped out rear springs to the blue ones (2 steps softer). Next opportunity, I'll start over with the road rage tires, and go from there.

Put a round of wedge in there...Or take one out...

I picked up some factory team .80" shock shafts today, and replaced the 1.32" from stock. The car sits better, and going with 45wt oil makes it feel like it should. I mounted up the Pro-line tires on new rims, and they're a little taller than the CW tires. That should give it a bit more top end, as I was debating going up a tooth anyway.
Now, I just have to wait until the holidays are over, so I can get involved more. Life is getting in the way right now...besides, my transponder hasn't arrived yet. (Must be the Mayans. )
