Not sure if that cover is going to do much good with the little hole just above the slipper. You can see the blue wire lead pointing to it.

There is not a hole in it there... Looks like it, but its not. The new B4 covers have 4 of those circle marks in the plastic. You can't see the other 3 marks because of the lighting.

LOL... The plastic is thick too, so if that was a hole, the plastic would not look so thin.

So I picked up a 19 tooth pinion gear at the hobby shop close by however the motor is too big I think. The pinion is about 1/8" away from meshing with the spur gear and it's as close as it can go.
I have a 72 tooth spur gear... Do I need to go bigger pinion and spur gear? Or is my motor the wrong one? I have a Reedy 3300kv.
I'd appreciate input here...

I'm a little bummed about the gearing dilemma. Hopefully I just need to get a larger pinion gear and spur gear and not a new motor.
It's an exciting time with all the RC10 re-re talk going on so I thought I'd forge ahead with the paint. It was my first airbrushing attempt (well second... my first was about 25 years ago on my original purple RC10, but that doesn't count!).
I'm pretty happy with the results, it's not perfect but it looks good from a distance I think. And it's a racer, so it will be used I hope! I have to track down some decals to put on it. I might order a set for the B4 and use those.

Looks good!
A 72 tooth spur gear is tiny! I think they came with either 81 or 87 tooth. You should definitely get a new spur.

Thanks for the compliments guys... I'm really looking forward to getting it on the track. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks.
If all goes well i should have everything I need this week.

Great job - a good mix of old and modern.

So this weekend I managed to pick up my spur gear as well as a sheet of B4.1 decals. I spent a little bit of time getting the electronics sorted out. Got my batteries taking a charge so I'm all set for a shakedown run at the track. Not sure when this will happen... hopefully within the next few weeks.
