Fred, when you say older cars had a 30° kick, when did 25° start? With the B2? B4? What about the trucks?

Associated kept 30° through the B3 and Losi through the XXX. The same applied to their respective trucks. Associated lowered it to 25° with the B4 series. Losi introduced the 22 with the option of 20° or 25°. When the 22 SCT came out it had 30° but the blocks are all interchangeable between the car and truck. The B5 gives the options of 25° and 30°. All other manufacturers use 25° in 2wd.

Fred, any update on the rear arms? What CVDs were you looking to run with longer rear arms?

Shapeways is blowing me away.. What CAD program are you guys using? If I have missed in the threads here, its bcz I'm a noob to this site.

I ask bcz I would love to get some of my xx4 mod stuff done using Shapeways vs my old handtools and dremel technique. Especially, want it for some 22-4mods ive been drawing up but would require a CNC Shop! I've never messed with any CAD since the AutoCAD back in early 90's.

Old school cars plus new school tech, I love it!

I just finished the new RC10 rear arm model. I'm going to order it on Shapeways to see how they work.

I use Creo 3.0 for most of the modeling that I do although I do use Inventor somewhat as well.

Did you aim for 9.75" wide like the front arms? What wheels are they designed to work with?

Same width. Designed to use B4 wheels, cvd's, and hubs.

Cool, sounds good. B4 wheels with pins, or hexes?

I only have pin drive so I assume they are the same but with the addition of a hex over the pin.

They are the same. The hex is just placed over the pin.

I wasn't sure if the width would end up the same.

Fred, let us know the fit...I have another project in mind already. Not that I am knocking Shapeways, but any stateside 3d shops worth a darn (and affordable)?

Shapeways has a location in Europe and in New York. I found a 3D printing company here in Houston but decided they are too expensive. They are about 50% more expensive than Shapeways and add on a $20 handling charge. It more than doubles the price and they still have a 3 week turnaround. I found several other companies and they were all priced similar to that as well. Shapeways is the big company so they are cheaper.

Still no update on the new arms. Shapeways has a target ship date of the 26th. I just had an order that shipped from them today that was supposed to go out a week ago so who knows if that is accurate or not? If so, I'll know in about a week whether they are good to go or if I'll need to revise them.
