Of the associated bodies, I like the mirage and protech 2. The original protech is growing on me with the right cut and slamming it low.

I also really like the jammin jumper.
is there a thread on here that has all these bodies? i guess i didnt realize there were so many options.

Turbo Mirage vs original Protech body. I really like both of these.

Its getting there! Just ordered the last bits to get it put together. Also ordered a body and wing, plus some stencils, but that's a surprise!

There you go man. Who would have thought there was a prize like that under the paint!

Yeah! Theres still a few bits of paint, but i figured I'd get around to that on the second rebuild.

In the mail coming there is,
• Set of new White ballcups
• Proline Octigrab rears
• Used A&L Trailing Arm Kit (C1 Style)
• Proline Diamond Fronts
• Body Mount Kit,
• Dogbone Springs and spacers (they went flying)
• Body, Wing, and masks.
• That pesky 1.3mm Allen so I can try and properly rebuild the shocks.

Speaking of rebuilding shocks, is there a kit anymore out there to do them? I've looked, but I've only found $30 vintage kits, would it just be better to get a set of newer shocks?

Fwiw. I’m doing same, complete rebuild of the shocks. I just bought some o-rings and that’s it. Unless something is damaged I believe that’s all that’s needed.

Well hotdog! I've only got about 10,000 orings sitting around, I'm set!

I finally got most of my parts!

...Just to lose a single eclip. And that one eclip halts all progress. And I'm out of R/C budget soooo, onto the shelf it goes.

Oh and one of the grubscrews for the front shocks is stripped, so I have to tear apart this arm, and order some more shock pins.

Jeez...This thing Is quickly turning into a money pit.

On the second hand, I'm kinda rethinking using these brand new ProLine diamonds and octigrabs.

Are the e clips the 1/8th size?

yes - eclips are 1/8th indeed: Team Associated 6299 E Clips, 1/8" (12) - i'd send you one but by the time it crosses the ocean you'd have refilled the bank account anyway ;)

yes - all restoration projects end up costing a LOT more than planned... always

I did finally find an e clip. Got most of it together. Then realized I need new turnbuckles/threaded rod for the front. These wide arms sure look like they will help though.

Got my Novak 410M5 today. Can this thing handle a 2s Lipo? If not I'll throw in a modified Chinese ESC.

Yes, it can "handle" a lipo to some extent. The issue will be the motor+lipo - the M5 was a sport speedo which would punch above his weight at the time for sure. so you could run a mild-to-hot mod. With a lipo battery that can pump out a lot of current very easily, it can become easy to toast a M5 if you go too hot a motor. In any case I wouldn't run it for more than 7-8 minutes at a time. remember these speedoes were designed for batteries that could only run your car for 5mn anyway...

I run my TRX1 on an M5 with a 15 turn mill + lipo and it survived... I actually cooked the motor last time instead

In that case I'll use my Chinese ESC, and use the M5 for something else. Thanks for the advice.

Anyone here good with soldering small bits? I'd love to convert it to one of those all black receiver wires, along with resoldering the main wires.

Lightspeed Motor. Anyone have info on these?

Made a solid rod to take out some slop from the steering assembly. It works pretty good.
