Thanks- yeah- I think it will look pretty good.
I got a good deal on a pair of the protech bodies and figured I’d use the first one for learning about the process of finishing it (and running it). I’ll work on the other one later and hopefully will have learned a lot.
I did order some body scissors which I’ll try out on the next one.

I tend to use both scizzors and x-acto knife depending upon how intricate are the trim lines.
I think the pros use an x-acto almost exclusively to score the lexan at the trim line then they simply tear along the score. This leaves a really nice clean cut but it also requires a really steady hand and a lot of patience. I possess limited supplies of both so I also rely upon a good pair of scizzors.
These, in fact...

My local shop had a body reamer and scissors for $12 and it was money well spent. I can't wait to see it painted.

Oh you are right, a body reamer would be a good investment as well.
I use a bit and drill press which is a terrible way to poke a hole in a lexan body. Get yourself a proper reamer.

No vintage battery cups were harmed in the making of this post
My new battery cup finally arrived and I modified it to fit the battery pack. It looks like it turned out pretty good.
From an aesthetic perspective I really like the looks of the Reedy battery pack- kind of matches the color scheme of the chassis (with the Reedy logo) and has the "IFMAR WORLD CHAMPIONS" tagline.
