Not trying to pimp anything, but no Speed 8 bodies on a vintage chassis. Let's keep it true vintage. That being said, I've got a load of 1/12 and some 1/10 on road bodies.

As far as motors go, I believe the rules that go with the offroad nats will probably apply here as well. 17.5 brushless or 27T brushed stock racing motors. That is primarily what they run in most of the classes currently at Thunder, and trust me, they are going plenty fast. I believe that probablt the only class that might need more motor will be touring car. But, with that said, the faster you go, the more likely you will break. Vintage breakage = bad.

Wish I had a way to get there, that'd be a blast to watch. It'd also be fun to run my 12e, if it were finished. Probably wouldn't qualify even if it were, too much new fangled mod stuff on it. ;)

Mark,

I have a set of TC wheels and tires installed on me RC10DS. The conversion is pretty easy.
I'm sure an RC modeler of your caliber can handle it. :)

There is a link in my responses on TC.

We got the green light from the track owner, he set us up with a website, we just need to figure out a date and set it in stone. Then all the other stuff that goes along with putting on a race will have to be handled. Not sure on oval yet, if we get enough interest we might.

We are targeting late January, early February to avoid the whole Xmas time dilemma.

Oval would be completely up to the track owner. He does strictly road course type tracks in the space he has, but configuring it for oval with a road course infield shouldn't be too much of a problem.... I'll ask him this Friday....

Our track owner brought that up since he goes every year. Might have to push the date back a little.

We are still collaborating on ideas/dates/etc. I will make the official announcement after I get back from the offroad vonats in Sept.

I'm picking up a DS this friday, I'll start a build thread for that one when I get it home.

Now I just need to find a 12LW and hide all this RC spending from my wife a little better. Her question for me today was "how many cars do you need!!??" She has no idea :D
