Well it's not like any of that stuff is important. Less weight and more flex is a good thing, right?

Apparently the dude put his time and money into the cage and body, but with the looks of everything else, you should start at the tip of the bull bar and go through that thing with a fine tooth comb. Not that you'll likely need the cage, but it would be nice to know that if you did happen to put it on it's side that however it's attached will hold and support the rig.
I still say a few of us need to take a trip to Cheekago and have a word with that dude!

Looks like most of the stuff needing to be fixed will be replaced by the mighty kong, if you go that route. Check out Sky Mfg. for the shock mount.

halgar when it was originally built this broken stuff wasnt broke. i can see in the build pics that the rear shock crossmember was intact. i just dont know how somebody could have freaking broke it unless it was jumped or something. it just wasnt maintained at all, and whoever drove it after the builder sold it just flat out punished the poor thing...
hehe, already got both... the problem is the kong doesnt match up to the buggered frame mounts and the sky rear mount needs to mount to something solid on the frame... if it was just bolt on stuff it would have been fixed last weekend.
theres a popular 4x fabrication place up north about an hour or two away. i emailed the guy and will most likely just bring it up there to have the work done. at least that way i'll know its fixed and fixed right. its gonna cost... but i can always sell some stuff if i have too.
this is just one of those little mistakes in life you have to deal with, theres been a couple guys on a zuki board tell me they have had similar experiences with the guy who sold me this thing.
at least the weather is getting nicer so i can start driving the transam and not worry about getting the sucky zukie up and running so quickly.

u guys tired of me spamming this turd yet?
front end all re-built. upgraded to landcruiser vented rotors and caliper while i was at it. i'm not near as down on it now that its at least on its own feet again.
what a messy job... how you guys like that yellow tranny?
i'm gonna take it to a shop to get the frame stuff fixed once i get the trans and transfer case back in it.
might also
inquire about 4 linking it, since i have to replace the leafs anyway.

Hoop, once this turd has matured, you need to paint that tranny and everything else Cat yellow. It will be a new dawn, and the CatHoopMobile will be a force to be recon'd with!
Monster - stop drinking, I'm having bad thoughts again!

TIMMAY!!!
pardon the crappy phone pic. i dunno where my real camera is.
i prolly put an honest 30 hours on it from friday afternoon till now, it wore me out pretty good, but man its nice to be able to at the very least back it out of the garage so i can sweep the floor and stuff... it sure drives alot better with the 6.5 transfer case, but i only tooled it around the city and didnt get it on the highway yet.
the only thing on the drivetrain i didnt replace or rebuild are the rear axle seals and bearings. i didnt do anything with the diffs, but they seem ok. the front driveshaft splines are seized up, i've had it soaking in liquid wrench for a week now and applied heat and a hammer many many times, and i cant bust it loose.
next its off to the frame guy to fix my rear shock mounts and beef up the transfer case frame area. then its a better front driveshaft and some non-bent to hell leaf springs, and a couple tires.

Good to see her on her feet again! I know when you're done with her she'll be a force to be reconned with.
In light of what you've gone through, you'll probably get a kick out of this. I was kinda thinking of you when I found it.

i have a hard time thinking people can be that stupid. it totally looks like something my redneck buddies back in kansas would do with the intent of breaking the poor guys rig.
i just recently saw another vid that looked to be shot at the same place where some yahoo in a powerstroke tied a rope to the rollcage of a wrangler, pulled it hard SIDEWAYS and literally pulled the body off the frame.

I owned a towing company back in the 1970's and I wonder how much it would have cost to have a tow truck winch it out nice and slow, compared to the damage caused by these bozo's and there one more time a little faster approach. This guy deserved what he got and I don't usually think that of most people but seriously this boys brain had a serious malfunction.

Brett of CPE fame just posted that vid over at CT in the thread I posted mine in (New Towing Service ). I can't figure out why they would have done such a thing, it ain't like they can pull it out sideways! LOL
Here's that vid:
