Thanks.
Rust-Oleum Universal Advanced Formula "Hammered" All-Surface Paint.
This stuff is great, it leaves a slight textured surface, & isn't too glossy.
Just finished doing a little front end work too....polishing the arms was a pain..

Me too!
It's the details that take forever.
Other projects have kept me side tracked....it should be in purple pretty soon...

Thanks.
I hope it makes the cut when I'm done with it.
I've enjoyed building this one for the most part. It's neat to see so many different parts come together that were otherwise just taking up space.
After this, I think I'll move on to the less labor intensive projects.

Vinyl top is getting trimmed & fitted.
Just a little more work, & I should have the look I'm looking for...

Awesome project and some fantastic fabrication going on--I love it.
Question about those blue control arms & faded Kyosho Gold shocks...did you use Easy-Off to remove the anodizing? If yes, that's a cool tip I'll have to remember!

I must admit I was not too impressed with this project when you first started it but it has turned out just beautifully! I can't wait to see this in paint.

Yep,
Easy-Off Heavy Duty.
Washes off the anodizing like it's water color....just don't leave it on too long.

Awesome, I never knew! Now, after the anodizing is removed, how would you prep the aluminum for a subsequent anodizing with a different color, for example? Have you ever done that?

I've never anodized anything yet, I always wind up polishing aluminum parts.
I soak the parts in a plastic bag until the coating washes off, the parts are then washed in dish detergent, rinsed, then they may be carefully sanded (if needed) to remove any blemishes. Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish is used next to get a nice shine.
I would bet that once the old color & scratches are removed from the aluminum, it would be ready to add color.

Well,
After searching
everywhere, I gave up on finding the proper length dog bones...
This one won't get run much anyway, so I think the shiny aluminum axles will add to the bling factor.. I'm not worried about breakage.
