FYI. I voted for the 6 gear, but can I also vote for you to re-use the front body mount..?

I meant to ask about that. Where did it come from? Is that some RC10T mount or some custom made piece? I've never seen one before.

It's a pan car mount.

For the wheels you can also go for CRP axles instead of the bearing adapters.

To be clear the PN 1552 is what you'll need for the wheels you have. The 1557 may cause handling problems and you've got enough of those already.

those stub axles look like they might actually fit so I'll look into getting a pair of them. Anybody have any thoughts on the B2 steering parts being used on my goldpan? I like the idea of the servo saver with my *ahem* driving style...

B2 steering...you don't necessarily have to mod it for the bearing.

Can a 6 gear transmission hold up against a Castle Creations Brushless SCT system (the 4 pole one with tons of torque)? I only ask because it looks as if my stealth diff is going to cost me around $30 to repair/ replace. I ran my 6 gear with my 14 turn brushed motor for a while and never had an issue with the tranny blowing up or melting anything but this system just seems to be too much for it. Can it be made to run with this system? I've upgraded and tuned it to near top performance according to a couple of build guides and the manual for the car. Any opinions?

Also, where can I get the large diff thrust washer for the top shaft (the one that goes on the end of the diff tube)? I have bought/ received four 6 gear trannys and have never gotten that washer.

As far as the thrust goes, #6627 is apparently discontinued. I did find it here in stock but I have never dealt with this site

I have no first hand input on the power of said motor but I would advise on spending the $30 instead of spending money repairing then melting into a pool of nylon an old trans that as never meant for this much HP. Your gonna end up spending it after you melt the 6 gear anyway

I do have the steel idler gears and new ball bearings for it so I didn't know if that would help make it more durable.

If the rings are for the 6 gear tranny then it's # 6625. Tower hobbies has the for $1.50.Your hobby store should be able to order them.

it will hold up for probably half a pack...maybe 1 full pack but it wont last long. gotta consider the era its from...there were powerful brushed motors but nothing like a brushless system that will kill that 6 gear with no mercy. i have 6 gear cars and stealth cars and all my 6 gear stuff will never see anything hotter than a 19 turn brushed motor...when i wanna hit the goldie with some power i always make sure its a stealth trans equipped car.

if you have steel idlers, be sure to oil them or better, use a dry lube of some type. Take a careful watch of your diff settings and make sure you run tires that have terrible traction.

the only problem you would see would be a melted spur gear from the diff slipping too much.

the 6 gear trans ran pretty radical motors back in the day, but just remember, for usually very short periods of time, ie, 4 minutes and under. The brushless and lipo systems while really powerful, offer a LONG run time that generates heat and THAT causes damage.

Yeah my first 6 gear lasted almost half a pack befire the diff washers wore away. The car also did plenty of donuts and stuff with that tranny which made the car almost undriveable. Guess I'll stick with the stealth.
