Rebuilt tranmission and cleaned casing as much as I can:

Motor plate is nice and clean here:

A few scrapes underneath but not too bad:

Rear shocks and arms fitted:

I'm away from home at the moment but I did cut the battery slots off the chassis before I left. Not really happy with it as it looks odd, looks like that will be me looking for a new chassis then and that could take some time...

Oh and I have ordered a new front shock tower. I like the Trinity blue flake one but many of you seem to have them, so thought I would be a bit different and more boring and get a Fibrelyte one instead. Coming from many years of rallying I am a little partial to some good old carbon fibre :)

Looking good! I like this step-by-step work in progress. You're right about the graphite chassis though......it might take some time......especially when you really want one.

Just noticed that my rear arms have two outer holes and three for the shock location, any idea why? I take it I need to use the inner for hubs and the middle for shocks?

I believe the rear arms are a XXX item, and are called variable length arms (VLA). Check the manual for a XXX BK2 (Google it, still on losi website), and you can spot them there.

Thanks for the info, VLA and XXX hadn't been thought of by the time I stopped racing.

I'm sure there are a few other forum members that feel the same way!

So I have some rear 5 spokes that were NIP and colour 'natural' but they are actually as white as white can be, which is what I want. I bought some 'natural' fronts to match but they arn't white, they ARE natural (creamy) colour. Both were NIP so I'm confused as to why one set are white and one set are actually natural. I have seen some fronts on ebay that 'look' white but again are described as natural.

Are earlier/later wheels of different colours then? Or...?

Heh that's two of us then. I see a blue label and a yellow label, which one goes with which for you? My blue label = white as white, yellow label = creamy natural.

Ok transmission refitted to car:

Decided on the shiny CVD's as I prefer them, also went with the shiny turnbuckles to match the CVD's. Also caved and bought some blue hub carriers!

Is that the stock Kinwald motor plate? The colour match with the trinity items looks very good, yet I know that the stock colour should be a darker blue..

Looking very good though :-)

I think they made a running change so the early ones are natural (and easily dye able) but the later ones are pure white...

...but they didn't update the header card which still says NATURAL!

PS. That Losi parts lot didn't last long on eBay....I wonder what happened to it???
