Still running modified pan cars - the 17.5 cars are faster than the 'original' open modified cars - of which we now call Insane Speed run cars, LOL. Main difference is using a full suspension up front, brushless with lipo. We have been introducing a newer class, non-suspension (standard pan car) front end, fixed timing 21.5, full Nascar bodies (no rear bumper cut out) to get more attendance and bring costs down. I run that spec class and NasTruck, when I can get out there. Its been tough for this offroad guy to go in circles on concrete. A quick search on Youtube (Encino Velodrome) will get you quite a few races. This was the 2nd site that Thunderdrome was ran at, other than the original Dominguez Hills track (no longer there).
Now...back to the build!!

Ok back to the build,
I'm going for the Bud's design. Green, yellow and white.
Scheme drawn and liquid mask applied. This is a relatively easy scheme, but would have been easier with masking tape than liquid mask. Cutting those lines with xacto knife was a pita
Hoping for smooth lines once painted.

Wow, that's some intense liquid mask cutting! I'm very much looking forward to seeing the colors applied.

Ah crap!
This was not a good day.
As I didn’t find a hobby shop that had all tre faskolor colors I needed I went with rattle can colors.....
Spray can colors and liquid mask do not work that well together. Should have figured!!
Might have to “break fluid” this one.

Sorry to hear. Paint disappointment is a bummer.
I hope you are able to get it sorted out.

Ahhh man
To bad it's so cost prohibitive to send you a heavy box. I have a bunch of FasKolor that I'm never going to use again.

Thanks guys,
I will do a break fluid treatment and order Fascolors for a second try, but for now I will just leave this be and focus on the RC10 FF for a while.

Well here it is,
Under the circumstances i'm happy with the outcome.
One thing I've learned is to stick with the paints you know.
Still have the wing to do and of course stickers.

Thanks Micke
It's a bit "looking good from far, but far from good, but then again I have high demands on my work.
Decals will do magic on this rather anonymous scheme I think.

I would not recomend break fluid as a first try solution as it easily makes the polycarbonate brittle. (but that was what i hade at home)
It all depends on what paints is on the body and how thick the layers are.
I have read that you can use nitro fuel, but then again, there are paints that can handle nitro fuel for obvious reasons.

oh that is SWEET! Some serious BotM material here.
Love the simple but contrasted paint/decal job. The wing really sets it up, too!
