Holy smokes! That looks amazing Justin. 8)
I went with a Mirage body but I really think the Viper is better suited to this car.
Well done sir!!!

These days you'll be lucky to get any body on the car! I also had Vintage AE paint an unused Work's 93 body of mine with same paint scheme and just saw a guy post a NOS one from Japan on Ebay for $600. He wants another $200 for the under tray. It's like "Really????"

I can understand discontinuing a lot of parts but Lexan bodies and shock rebuild kits are consumables that keep the vintage scene alive. Hopefully, we see more repro bodies out there to pick up the slack.

I agree, 800 bucks for a body and undertray is completely unreasonable but maybe someone will buy them.
Yes we can look to aftermarket to fill the gap but I've found the quality of reproduction bodies to be very inconsistent. I guess it's better than nothing -- or having to pay 800 bucks.
I see the very long term future in RC will require us to embrace the ugly boring modern stuff or leave the hobby. We're not there yet so enjoy it while it lasts.
I think Chuck (radioactivity) and others here are exploring innovative ways to combine new and vintage parts to make some very interesting RCs that still retain that vintage look.
So what's next? Are you and Fred still working on the '89 car?

I'd love to try to build that car but I don't have the tools.

Fred’s been working on that car on and off. Modeling the prototype tranny case is a nightmare. In terms of the suspension I think it’s basically a ‘91 car with the front end flipped around.

I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around who makes good repro bodies. I’d like to have a couple of Yokomo bodies (with undertray) but am not sure who makes the good ones.

Right now I’m enjoying my ‘91 replica runner at my local track. Took a bit of work but I think I have it dialed in nicely.

Sweet!! I was about to ask if you were still planning to run your Stealth and you've answered that question. Very cool!
I have yet to get mine dirty. I guess I should build a second car so I can have one for display and still have some fun in the dirt.

Getting my runner prepped for VONATS. I run slicks at my track and wasn’t expecting Octagons to be 5mm wider. This extra width causes issues with ball cup clearance.

Are you using wide axles with those wheels?

Yep- Lunsford titanium. Those are the longest I know of. This is how many threads are available and I’m using a nylon lock nut.
