I was the guy who sent Willy chang the Procat,Cougar and Cougar2 decals for repro. They are ok but definately not the same quality as screen printed originals. What do these new CAT decals look like close up?
Both Jeroen and I have been through the 'ringer' as far as getting repro bodies done through Kamtec. Keith is a nice enough guy,perhaps he has too much on his plate and cant get around to doing everything we would like. If you dont mind waiting years to get your originals back then give him a go.

Look back on page 1 of this post for some close ups of the roof and on page 2 at the 2 schumacher logos side by side All of the decals have been drawn using vector graphics so Willy tells me, so look very, very good.

I can understand your dilema! Couldn't you just fill the shell with plaster of paris mixture to save the shape, and then simply get another vac formed should you wish in the future? I think it's unlikely you'll ever find another new shell, that got to be one of the rarest finds ever!!

I love that SWB cat, with the battery running through the middle it explains why Cecil ran the belt under the car, rather than in the middle! - something which wasn't refined out of the design until the Boscat...

Just wondering, obviously the UK side of Schumacher has/had all the tooling for both parts and body shells - but did the America side as well? I always assumed the American office was purely a distribution centre rather than a manufacturing centre?

As far as I know, Florida was/is just a distribution centre, all Schumacher car parts used to be made in Northampton, UK. I don't believe this is still the case these days.

want to ask a silly question......... what are the differences in length & width ..........when comparing the Cat SWB & XLS ??........

that's a good question.
I don't remember how much the difference was, I'm sure someone will be able to check, but what I can tell you having seen them when they arrived on the scene, the original one was at the time both the hardest car to build, and to drive !
Remember this is when the RC-10 was King !
And the orginal swb CAT was so twitchy that even on an indoor slidy surface, my RC-10 was still faster than the CAT.
That changed as soon as they lengthened it.
That day it became THE car to have !

Cat XL is 25mm longer than a SWB Cat and a XLS is 10mm wider than a XL. I think!

BTW Stu I ve got 3 SWB belts

that means........Cat SWB is a small size T-shirt........while XL is medium size.......& XLS is large size ??........

XLS is about this much bigger......


Compared to any other buggy I own, the SWB CAT looks like it's 1/12th scale

this is a great read,what a buggy.. ill have a body set also
