Impressive replica project. Those wheels are very nice. I'm amazed at how detailed you guys get when replicating these famous racers. Great job!

I found this while reading your Jay Halsey replica post. You did an awesome job on that replica. Well done.

Do you have any info about this Masami RC10? I am not sure of what it is exactly. I know he ran a RC10 with red arms at Romsey in '87 but I guess he was using the tube chassis back then. May be it is the '88 JMRCA National Champ car? It has to be '87 or '88 because from early '89, Masami raced a heavily modified RC10, very different from the one on your picture (laid down front shocks, etc...). Then he got the 1st stealth car at the '89 WC in Australia as everybody knows.

Regarding the signature on rear wing, it is not Masami's father, but his painter's signature.

i'm still unsure exactly where he used this car. ruffy and i were trying to figure it out one night. ruffy was leaning toward the japan race you mentioned in '88. but i have no concrete evidence. i haven't spent alot of time looking for some, either. to lazy i guess....

what you quoted in the above post...... when i responded about the car being signed by masami's father, i was talking about the rc10 that mark flores has. he met masami's dad somewhere....... i'd have to dig up mark's thread to answer that, and masaki signed mark's rc10.

EDIT: here it is......

100% more progress than I made on any of my builds today. But I sure thought about a lot of stuff I'm going to do.

Seriously, though - it's looking great, and I'm sure getting all of the details together for that pair of shocks was no trivial task.

ok.... 5 month update.

so a couple weeks ago, i had my eye on a new pair of gold delta shocks on ebay. well, i ended up not getting home in time to put in a bid at auction end (missed it by a half hour). so needless to say i was bummed when they only went for $31.00. i was planning on going huge to get them. so anyway, al had said something in my ebay forum rant about them, which gave me an idea to send the guy an e-mail. it turned out the guy had another new pair, and he said i could have them for what the pair went for in the auction ($36.00 shipped). worked out great for me, since he put another pair up on ebay and they went for twice as much.

so here they are. now i can get going on this car again when time allows. :)

well, thanks to my wife screaming at the tv during the eagles game last night  , i spent some time in the basement getting this thing to roller status. some tweaks need to be made here and there but atleast it's together.

i'm amazed at the amount of times i've looked at the body off pic of masami's car, and only last night, did i take notice that the rear arm mounts were white. so i had to swap out the ones i had dyed red.

i'll also be swapping out the mip trans for a 6 gear once i collect the new parts to build another one. i've come across some things recently that i can say i'm 95% sure it should have a 6 gear.

so anyway, here it is. sorry for the bad pics. the settings must be off on my camera.......
