Huh???? Red rings???

If your talking about O-rings, I use the red ones, but I have never seen blue ones for these shocks from AE!

IIRC the good blue o-rings for the ae shocks were made by MIP:



M1043 Blue Seals for all shocks (8pc)

traxxas also sells the blue ones in their rebuild kits, or did.

mcmaster sells the red silicone o-rings, you can buy 'em a hundred at a time for a good price.....

I don't recall whether or not the traxxas blue seals were/are made of silicone or whether or not they even worked well.

I thought I read something somewhere about how the "newer" red seals from ae might be made of silicone, and that they work better than ae's "old" red shock seals.

I use current AE red o-rings, they seem the same to me. They work great. You just need to use Green Slime!

The reason I asked ,I was sent a rebuild kit in mistake,it was assc. and it had the blue O-rings which I have never used...Thanks JohnnySr

Been putting this one off for a bit, but did some work on it! I dyed the Deans plugs black (they took the black Rit very well) and replaced some wires with black ones, or covered them with black heat shrink tubing. I used some Losi neon orange shock springs on all 4 corners, the are about the same rate as AE green springs. I made some neon orange wheel dots. I was going to add black AE and Reedy decals to the wheel dots, but I'm not sure if I like them yet! They may grow on me!

Just in time for Halloween ... the truck looks great!

how do you make wheel dots, they look factory made? Is the Reedy decal custom too, looks really good?

VintageAE, for the wheel dots, I just used an OLFA circle cutter and some vinyl sticker paper. You can see the roll behind the truck with the circle cut outs I made.

The vinyl is a bit thin, so I was thinking after the AE and Reedy stickers are put on. I would put a layer of clear vinyl over top to make it thicker and stronger for racing!

Do you guys think they look ok on this truck?
