Hey colt,

The gold shafts are actually hard coated so are a better option if you’re going to run them. The larger shafts are 1/8” (3.175mm) and the smaller would be 3mm hence the size difference your noticing.

The screw and washer shafts were introduced with the ld and l1 range of buggies, the KD and kc buggies still used the e clip retainers

Today I converted my carpet oval Cougar back to standard duty. I will run it on my bumpy, grassy, home track instead.

In related news, my KF2 is now setup for carpet oval duty.

Jeff's A & L monster truck wheels for a Tamiya and some 4x11x4 mm Chinesium bearings from Amazon came together nicely for my Storm 2000. I now have 1 complete set of truck wheels and 1 complete set of buggy wheels. This compares favorably to the 0 wheels at all situation I was in last week.

The fronts that he made me hit the hinge pins before full lock. I'm thinking of getting a router attachment for my Dremel and using a 1/8" end mill bit.
Got a picture? It's the same model used for both your sets. I wonder if I missed adding a chamfer from the originals.
I forgot that I had a Dremel Trio. So I took a straight router bit and cut out ~8mm.

I stopped by a DAISO store for the first time. They had lots of things there that I wouldn't have ever thought existed. However one thing that I picked up for $1.75 looks a lot like servo tape. I haven't tried it yet but thought it was worth the gamble.

They got DAISOs in Texas? Never heard of them until Korea. Are they "new" in the states? And that's the same experience I had...stuff I didn't know existed!

This DAISO has been here for about a year. It's next to a Dave and Busters. They also had these pens. I haven't bought one, yet. 🤣

I didn't inspect them any closer. Some of the other pens near them were supposed to have scented ink.

I finished my Top Cat except for paint.

I "won" novice with my KF2. Even though it weighs a ton more than my Mk1 Cougar, and has a 17.5 vs 13.5 for the Mk1, the lap times were almost identical. I guess there is something to these "modern" (2013 or so) cars after all :?

I also attended an RC swap meet. I never heard of such a thing, but it was quite cool. I paid $10 for a Novak 410-m5 (with heatsinks and a motor attached), $10 for a pair of batteries, $10 for a set of slicks mounted with foam, $5 for motor, and $10 for a dirt oval body I don't need. All in all, that seems like a good haul for $45. I also got 4 new wheels but can't remember if I paid 5 or 10.

I goofed around painting the body, designing a scheme as I went, primarily just trying to clear out old paint cans. When the hell did I even buy a can of purple?

Painted and put decals on a Celica body for my Traxxas Rally. Screwed up by putting on way too little liquid mask and it refused to come off the trim areas so instead I painted the trim on the outside of the body. Actually came out better than I expected. The stickers Delta Plastik supplied with the body were not the livery I expected, they used the one from the Corolla, even has Corolla stickers instead of Celica ones. Still not bad though. Now I need some white wheels.
