still in the queue, hopefully soon.
Yea what should we do about parts support. I want one of these but what do we do if a part breaks? Kinda like kyosho they slowly roll out certain parts.duckhead wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 2:59 pmWhich is a bummer, I bought a set of wheels from RC Mart (on eBay) but looking at their website there appears to be wide part support in Asia for this car: https://www.rcmart.com/product-search?search=YZ-870C&limit=60BeastyShout wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 1:55 pmOh dang. By the looks of Amain, it doesn't seem like parts support is high priority for these.jwscab wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 12:42 pm Jc racing makes wheels that fit this car and are 2.2" so you can run modern tires.
We had a vintage race recently on a fairly aggressive track and a guy ran his new rerelease and broke an arm. Not sure if it was a super hard hit or if the plastic isn't the greatest so use caution on these guys.
It would be awesome if Amain (being the US Yokomo distributor) would stock those parts, and they would sell a ton.
I did on mine but depending on what you have you might be fine.Ty89m wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 10:28 pm I'm seriously considering ordering this kit as I'm slowly amassing the vintage re-release buggies.
I will likely stick the Yokomo 27T brushed motor in as it won't be a runner (not often anyway), but I'm also considering tossing a HW brushless in there. For those who are running brushless, did you end up needing to use a long-boss pinion? I noticed that RC Kicks fella on YouTube mentioned needing a longer pinion, but I haven't seen mention of it elsewhere...
Also, I'd be curious if anyone is running a faster motor than the kit's recommended max of 17.5 when running brushless?
What did you end up running? I pulled the trigger on the kit and grabbed the pink 27T brushed motor from Japan. I'd like to think the kit-supplied pinion would work with the car-specific motor. Regardless I'd be curious what you're running and what pinion you went with as I'd still like to try a brushless setup as well, and the manual is a bit light on gear ratio info, etc.RogueIV wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 11:55 pmI did on mine but depending on what you have you might be fine.Ty89m wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 10:28 pm I'm seriously considering ordering this kit as I'm slowly amassing the vintage re-release buggies.

I haven't gotten to drive it quite yet so not sure if it's geared right. Currently I have a 21.5T bl motor in it, the pinion I yanked from my L1R which is a 27 tooth.Ty89m wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 12:39 am What did you end up running? Got it. I'm assuming most brushless motors have similar length shafts, so I'm betting I'll end up needing those longer Schumacher pinions. Which brand motor are you running?RogueIV wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 1:21 amI haven't gotten to drive it quite yet so not sure if it's geared right. This one is my local hobby shop's house brand, New Wave. I've had good luck with Fantom motors too.Ty89m wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2024 1:56 amGot it.
