New to the forum so first of all hi!

Have been renovating my almost unused works 91. I am going to compete in the 4WD regionals this year so wanted to try to make it as durable as possible for my brushless set-up (7.5T LRP X12 motor with LRP Sphere controller + 5300mAh LRP LiPO). So with this in mind I have changed the drive system from the 2mm belt over to the 3mm pitch system from the YR4 touring car together with the chassis (as the belts are shorter). This enables me to slot my lipo stick pack into the huge Parma bodyshell undertray (with suitable retro paint scheme). I have used the shocks from my Kyosho RB5 with look and work great. I had the first test run at the weekend at it handled just like I remember and was certainly not outclassed by the modern Cats and ZX5's. Hope you guys like it. I just wish I could find a slipper clutch and some more wheels for it.....

Very nice and well done with the conversion. The more Yokomos there are out there the better even if they are hybrids.

those slippers are out there, don't give up

I drove a similar build at a big indoor race earlier this year, and yes the car is real hot for such an oldie.
The short wheelbase didn't give me any trouble for stability on the high grip smooth carpet track and helped directivity (much needed for the lame servo I had in it)
Did you know yokomo actuallly made a car very close to what you have? It was called hotdog and also used shorter shocks and yr-4 shocktowers
