Very excited, my first ever RC10 gold pan on the way

I'll admit that I'm a lifelong Tamiya nut, having built my first RC car in 1983 or '84 -- the Hornet, because it was all I or my family could afford. I never had money for a Team Associated RC10, but was always in awe of how much more advanced they were than my Hornet.
Well, thanks to rctenracer (Dave), I have my first RC10 gold pan on the way to me next week. Needless to say, I'm thrilled. This may be a no-no to some of you, but my plan is to turn the buggy into a Baja Bug runner, ala Scollins' and Rizzo's bugs. I'll shorten the wheelbase a bit, but everything else will stay relatively as it comes to me from Dave. I'll change the wheels and tires to something more vintage as well.
I plan on keeping the white parts, although does RPM still make the short a-arms (front and rear)? I was thinking I could set aside the white arms so I don't damage them too much.
Thanks,
Steve
