I got busy assembling this kit the last couple of days, so I thought I'd shoot a picture or 3 and post. It didn't get any comments before but for $125 I think it's pretty cool to have the fun of putting together an old 1/8th scale car like this. Instructions are not the best I've ever seen but It does resemble a rolling chassis. That has got to be one of the biggest front bumpers I've ever seen. Not sure what I'm going to do about a fuel tank as I'm not sold on the Sullivan tank it came with, very little chance of finding a vintage Johnson fuel tank and filler so I'm still undecided. The engine is also up in the air but I have a couple of leeds and maybe I'll find something like an old K & B 3.5 or a Nova Rossi .21.
Certainly would like to hear any helpful comments or any leeds on the pieces I need to complete.

looks good, what are you going to cover it with. I would try to find a k&b as I believe that is what the motor mounts from the stock kit are made to fit. My rc300 has an enya powerplant in it and has had the motor pod plate drilled/slotted to get the clutch to properly line up.

Yep, the motor mounts and flywheel provided are for the K & B but not a lot of those out there unless for marine use. I have referred to your RC300 build many times, Anthony it is a great car and you did a super job rebuilding it. I'd like to find a nice period Can Am body but they don't come around very often so I'll have to be patient which is not one of my better traits.

Beautiful job and a nice build up, if I get a vote on the body greenwood Corvette all the way I prefer 1/10th but I am considering a 1/8 scale build just to show that body off………..

.....a01buta.....GREAT BUY at 125 bux!!!............i have 2 of these cars and a bunch of parts......i have ordered a Porsche 917 body from Bruce at
www.historicrc.com for one of my 250's......great bodies and great service.....if you mount a late model .21 the pod will have to be drilled or coustm motor mounts will need to be made as the old .21's used narrower shorter crankcases......i took Serpent mounts, turned them around 180 degrees and drilled my pod....works great...i'll post pics later........Matt

I've got one of Bruce's McLarens, Chaparrals, and 917s. They are nice indeed. I believe they are made from PETG, not lexan, as they are a bit more pliable than Lexan. He does have some of the best customer service as his early bodies where shipped in not so sturdy boxes. I had two of mine completely crushed and he glady replaced them each time.

whattt????????????? that looks just like my rc300, the only thing different is the top part where the fuel tank is at??/
in the instructions it says rc300/250....must be the same.
you said that was from around 1992???? in this associated history website it said the rc300 debuted in 1974 or 75 or 79,
whats the exact history on these things??
i got a rc500 im restoring , and ive been seeing 4wd rc500's , cant find any online that look exactly like mine
