Picked up a couple of 1/8th scale bodies

I'm currently visiting my daughter and have never had any luck finding really cool parts out here in Kansas City, Mo so I starting checking in the next state over and found a guy who ran a hobby shop at one time and closed a while back. The leftovers are in his barn out behind his house. Somehow I died and fell into an 1/8 scale heaven. A former Team Assoc. factory sponsored driver in 1/12 and 1/8 scale on-road. Parts from the RC1-100, RC200 and RC300 pluse RC12e and 12i. Buggy stuff from Losi and some AE tires, anyway here is a shot of the 7 1/8th scale lexan bodies which I got from him. This is just a tease because everybody is still a sleep and I was making a lot of Lexan racket moving bodies around. I'll take a few more shots later if there is any interest.

I was told it was a Lotus and it was for the 1st AE on-road kit which was either the RC1 or RC100. The other Indy car body is a Mongoose and the Can Am bodies are an AE McLaren Mk20, AE Lola T310, Parma Porsche 917-30, AE Ferrari 312p and an MRP Alfa. I have attempted to clean some of the years of dust off of them but they still need to be cleaned again.

The lotus body almost looks kike it would fit a rc10, might have to narrow the chassis a little bit. Would be a fun project though. Very nice collection you got.

Yep that's me a big tease.

also found the 1/8 AE wing #116. I think some of these bodies are so special that they should be preserved by someone with expert repop skills. I'm looking for that repop specialist now if any one knows of anybody expertly qualified please let me know.
Also enough parts in this find to assemble a new RC100, RC200 and maybe more. These great cars deserve to be preserved so we can appreciate where the beginnings of this hobby came from and just what contribution AE and Gene Husting made to move this great hobby forward.

I take that back, I've got the AE 917, not the Parma 917.

The person I got these from had both 917's and wanted to keep the AE version. I thought the detail better on the AE but the Parma is heavier with a thicker lexan, he also would not part with an AE McLaren Mk8a. I really wanted the Mk8a but could not bring myself to say anything especially since he was letting me have 7 of these beauties. Sometimes you just have to think your coming out ahead and maybe he'll change his mind later
I really just wanted to share these pictures with the people on the forum and wasn't even sure anyone would be interested in them. This isn't the BST forum so they are not for sale right now and I am serious about sharing if we can get some reproductions made.
Does anyone have any idea about the 2 old indy racer bodies especially if the thin one is an early RC1/RC100 body? I have heard mention of the Mongoose but the slim body supposedly being a Lotus is kind of got me stymied as the styling would have to go back to the early 60's Lotus Indy car otherwise I just can't place the design being a Lotus.

I'd be all over it my friend. The good thing, I believe I've got two AE 917s, one to keep and one to donate for repro. I always liked the Parma version, as it is the earlier 917 (the Follmer version, not the Donahue version).
