B44 truck conversion

Just curious, but has anyone attempted to make a 4x4 truck out of a B44 yet. I was thinking that it would be nice if Associated had an electric monster truck type thing that ran on lipo and brushless. Maybe something that would be similar to some of the traxxas trucks. I just don't want to buy a traxxas let alone a RTR. Besides, it's more fun to build your own creations

I have pondered this same idea myself, interesting that more than one person feels this way. I gave up on the idea and sold off one of my B44's. I haven't ran my other in months though...

I don't have one, yet, but I was wondering if it was possible to but T4 arms on and maybe T4 or older CVA/D in the front. For the body, somehow attach the body mounts to the towers somewhere.

I have no idea how the front end of a B44 is setup, so I'm just going on an idea.

I've seen pictures and a build thread in the off-road electiric forum one on RCTech - maybe a year ago. I would get a link for you but the search function there never works. :?

I think you are right though that it used t4 arms and cvds.

One of the guys at RCHR converted a b44 or a JC BJ4 into a 4wd truck, He used the T4 arms, tie rods, and CVDs. 8)

After some manipulation using google site:www.rctech.net I came up with a couple links for you.

http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric-off-road/305408-my-4wd-sc-lite.html

http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric-off-road/173482-how-about-associated-rc10-t44.html

I thought I saw another thread with an actual build, but I can't find it. Uggh.

Looks like there quite a few people who would like to see a T44. That first link has a good build to a sc10 but I wanted to stay away from that look because that already exists. And that other thread went on and on, so I just skimmed though it. I was thinking of something that looked like the stadium trucks. I might become a member of the rctech forum just to try and find that build.

2 pairs of hpi super star mt rear rims, and use the losi adapters. get a truck body, mount it, and your done. then you'll have a b44 monster truck. it'd be like the old jg monster truck conversion kit for the yz10.

I wonder if anyone on here has one, I would like to see that. In the mean time I'm going to see if I can find a photo on here or online.

rctech forums have a lot of information on them. I think it might be one of the biggest sites around.

OK, I'm going to have to suck it up and become a member. Too bad Associated wouldn't just make a kit. I was excited to see the electric SC10, but I think I would get more use out of a 4wd stadium truck. It's something for me to sit and ponder about until I start my next project.

I guess i don't see/understand the fascination of converting 4wd buggies into trucks?

It seems like a simple enough task, slightly larger tires, a truck body and some modification. The # of people begging for the Truck version (including 1/8th scale) seems like a patient game of waiting. I just don't see that a 4wd truck class being as accepted as the buggy class.

I mean, HPI came out with the RS4MT (which i owned, and LOVED btw) and I never saw a class come from it. The exception perhaps being the Tamiya Stadium trucks based on the TAO2 chassis. Though they were a bit narrow, they still were cool to watch. (see the new 2wd Slash/SC10/Strike)

Anyone share this sentiment? I can see perhaps making conversion kits, but I can't see making a separate class.

I'm not saying there should be a class. I just think it would be fun for the back yard, hill climbing, jumps, etc, not racing. So a conversion kit made for the B44 would be cool too.
