going for the slash .

Bad idea.

Our local track is infested with the silly things. Everybody smiling on the driver's stand; that is no way to race! At a state race they put 19 of them on the track for the main and they all finished. What is up with that?

If you're getting it to bash in the back yard that is one thing, but please keep it away from your local race track.

All kidding aside, I think they are pretty cool. You'll have fun with either but the Slash would be a good choice.

The SC10 handles better and steers. Only problem with that is that it can be a little twitchy compared to the Slash. I personally like the look of the SC10 better in stock form.

If you plan on racing, check with your local track to see if they will let you run the SC10 with the Slash class. If so, I would go with the SC10. A buddy of mine was running one with 3300 nimh cells and the crappy radon motor, and it was faster than the Slash everywhere.

The Slash is inherently easy to drive. Mostly due to the lack of steering, low hp, and a long chassis. Still very fun to drive none the less.

It does really depend on what you are looking to do. Our local tracks have now separated "Stock Slash" class (just.. well, you know) and "Open Short Course Truck" class (mod Slash, SC10, Losi, etc). The SC10 is a more capable racer. The Slash, for lack of a better word, is a tank-- virtually unbreakable and great fun for anyone to drive. We have kids racing as young as 10 at the local track because of the Slash class-- it's great to see.

Personally I don't believe the sc10 is better than the slash. I have rarely seen the sc10 win let alone finish a race at our local track. The sc10 breaks the front of the chassis easily and the slash pops off the shock caps. I have driven both and feel the slash is more durable then the sc10 and it has a 550 12t motor where as the sc10 has a 540 17t or 19t motor. The sc10 seems to have a little more top end but the slash seems to have a little more low end so they even out pretty well.

If the front end of the SC10 continues to snap like a potato chip on a regular basis, you can count on me running the Slash. Shame on Associated for not correcting an obvious issue during the R&D. I agree, the SC10 has a slight edge in the scale looks dept...but looks ain't evrything...I've seen YouTube videos of the Slash doing absolutely insane stunts...and surviving. It looks like the SC10 has difficulty with surviving a Sunday drive. From what I've read, seen, & heard, the only thing the SC10 has going for it is the "Associated" name.
