Budget parking lot runner. I got this Carrera GT TB02 kit new for $40 last year and have never run it. I sold the stock Porsche body and tires for a total of $35. Snatched up a SC430 lightweight body from Tamiya for $20. Never really liked the look of the SC430 but for $20, I'll make it work. The tires/foams I've had for about 3 years with nothing to put them on. I picked up the wheels for under $20 so now I got a brand new, good parking lot runner for under $50.


Love the look of the wide wheels/tires.




Got this old Parma interior for $3 at my LHS. I originally cut it up to fit a TA02 rally car but decided against it. It's going in the SC430 now.

Looks good ,are you going with the Mobil 1 scheme also?

Thanks. Nope, I'm going with a custom livery but will possibly use some of the Mobil1 decals.

Didn't like it at the time, was going to get an NSX for the chassis. But now I wish I had kept it.

Painted it Tamiya brilliant blue and bright silver. I masked the windows because I hate those window stickers that Tamiya uses and since I'm using an interior. I cut the window out of the sticker and just used the trim.


Another thing I hate. Those winglet stickers. So I painted some scrap lexan to make some and will mount them with some 2mm screws as soon as I find some.

Made a little more progress. Come to find I don't have any nuts for 2mm screws so I used some servo tape to hold down the winglets till I can get to the LHS.

Might add a small decal to them.



I'm really starting to like the look of this body. I think the silver works well with it. I widended the track so that the wheels are flush with the body, think that helps a lot.



Still need to finish the interior and add the window trim to the front and rear windows. Haven't decided on which motor to throw in it either. Should have it up and running soon.

Neither. I'm just lazy. I usually work through 80-90% then it sits waiting to get finished while I start on a new project. I did work on the interior a little yesterday and now am just waiting for the helmet to dry. Should take it out for some action shots this weekend.

Thats a nice one! i have a similar project on the line, just got no time to complete the TB02 chassis because of some missing parts that i have to borrow to my TB EVO III chassis.

I have a SC430 Body painted in Burgundy and Gun Metal on the hood, i have masked the head and tail lights for a future light buckets and also i did masked the window, interior cockpit purpose! I agree the window sticker does'nt really look cool!
