It looks like we may have a winner in the Slash copy-cat contest....

Check out HPI's website.

We don't need another backyard basher SC truck!!!

Why can't one of these companies build a balls to the wall, all out racing/competition SC?!!! Id rather see this type of truck at the nats or worlds than the open wheel type they run now.

You crawler guys can keep your open wheel stuff. LOL! Unless its a buggy, offroad racing should be full body.

Funny how the HPI & AE vehicles look similar, while Losi put themselves in the same (junk) league as Traxxas--guess I know what lack of mechanical skills (or not knowing how to build/repair you kit) leads to---break something, can't fix, lose interest & move on

I wonder how many of those they really sold. I would say they got that one all wrong.

I like that HPI truck. Under $200 for a RTR should attract club racers, newcomers and bashers. Just might give Traxxas a run for their money around the holidays.

I haven’t seen many of the Losi’s around – certainly not like the Slash. It’s nice that it comes with a DSM radio, though. I saw one race at OCRC a while back. We had fun watching it go around with its lights on.

The Losi isn't available yet. I think it's two more weeks. Horizon Hobby had a video testing the losi and it looked really good. Weird that it has a mid mounted motor in it.

I suppose you're talking about their new Strike SCT. Looks like all the major players have jumped into the short course truck game now. :)

mid mounted motor and the motor spins against the squat of the rear suspension. You think if Losi was going to go that route they would at least look at some of the work X Factory had already done to perfect the 2wd midmotor physics.

I'm getting tired of every HPI that comes out looking like a clone of an Associated product

That looks promising but like the person said in the "comments" it doesn't really fit in any of the classes. Id like to see it naked.

My opinion you get the best of them both. The HPI has combined both worlds the sc10 and the slah. It has a back half like the sc10 but the front and sides look to be slash to me. I can say that I dont agree to to having a 15t motor in it. But they did surpass traxxas and Assoc in the tire and wheels department. IMHO is what these companys need to do is insted of copying other work and saying look what we did is just step back and say ok look how popular this is and why, then take and build a better faster stronger version of what was already produced. Everyone (seems) to be B****ing about the losi but I have to hand it to them they didnt just copy Traxxas they did their own thing. I had one for a while and never had a issue with it.

Just my 2 cents worth. Wou;d be nice if they redid so to speack the rc10 buggys. I mean you buy a buggy and you could have everything from a mt to a duelly p/u to a dirt modified just by swapping a couple little things.
