This little Kyosho Scorpion beetle has been a long running project of mine that has just about taken me 2 years to complete. Not content with the Tamiya SRB beetle I wanted something a little more 'racer' orientated and the Turbo Scorpion seemed like the right platform at the time.
After a failed attempt at painting one of Kamtec's Baja beetle shells I learnt to be a little more patient and get the second right. (well almost) . Fitted with an LRP v7.1 esc and a 19 turn 'V'spec motor this thing realy moves. I even cut down two pairs of rough Rider rear tyres to make a pair of extra wide custom beach tyres.
On its first run I found the rear tyres didnt grip up as well as I'd have liked but I guess there's always other choices for the future runs. I didnt get any action shots but Mr Jak Rizzo managed some sweet pics on the day. here's what I have to show anyways-
Turbo Scorpion Beetle desert racer.

Re: Turbo Scorpion Beetle desert racer.
Those tires look badass. How is the tranny holding up to the 19turn?
