So...what do you do when you have a couple boxes full of LXT / Junior T parts and nothing but time on your hands?
You let you mind wander.....lets see, the front outer hinge pin to hinge pin length is nearly identical to a Slash...rear width is almost dead on too....a few spare chassis laying around....
So...no pictures yet, but I have 2 chassis marked for cutting (one had a buggered up front, the other a buggered up rear, no usable chassis were harmed in this......so far...), full front/rear suspension clips, full set of shocks ready also. I have to finish rebuilding the 2.61 truck XX retro tranny to drop in there. I am taking the 2 chassis to work this week to have the shop put the band saw onto them, putting it so in long wheel base format it will match the Slash exactly.
I plan on using HPI or Losi XXXS hexes in the rear, and using the C carrier and front steering knuckles from a Slash. I will adapt the Slash body mounts and attempt to use the front bumper set up also. For the rear, I am at a loss...so far, but I will play with the Slash parts for now to see what my evil little mind thinks up.
Hey....the SC-10T AE guys cant have all the vintage short course fun!!!

First SCT: Losi Heavy Metal XX4
I have the 2 chassis cut, I have some finish work to do tomorrow then I will be bonding them together. I still need to order mounts, front carriers and sort out turnbuckles. I should have most things done or on order by the weekend.
Pics coming soon!!!

I thought there was another sct that came before the heavy metal truck? I thought it was a kyosho or something.
Anyway ar you going to track down a heavy metal body to use on that? I have no idea if they are the same size or not, so sorry if I had a id10t problem there.

No, I have my fair share of Losi Heavy Metal bodies (see the ebay chat section for 2 I am selling).
I plan on racing this in the Open SCT class, so it will be stretched to fit under a Slash/SC10 body (length and width)...
Rick? Joey?

So...things never go as planned, but family time trumps RC time, I did get a touch done though...looks really like a hack job on the pictures, but it is pretty seamless.
The 2 side pods and battery tray will get carbon fiber inlays, both bolted and epoxied in for strength. Not worried about weight.

I was able to twist the chassis without the epoxy popping, so it still pretty stiffezel...
I will put a stock chassis next to it in the coming build and measure it up. I lined it up with my slash when I was marking it, I didnt measure.
I have eyeballed the slash front bumper assembly, I think I can make it work pretty easy, the hard part is going to be fabbing up a rear bumper assembly. I may just run a CRP on the front (to start with) and nothing out back, just to irritate the other drivers.

I still havent ordered the slash front carriers/axles/hexes, body mount set and tie rods. I need to source some graphite strips to epoxy down each side of the chassis for strength also.
Family plans next weekend, so next update will be in 2 weeks (or maybe a weeknight if I get a chance...)
