MIP Steering Fixes

One of the first hop-ups I put on my 10T racer BITD was the MIP ball bearing steering kit. I never really cared for how it mounted to the chassis (and removed the two nose plate screws in the process), but I liked the kit otherwise, so I came up with a better way. I replaced the MIP kit screws with two of the right hand #7306 nose plate/bell crank screws, boring out the MIP posts so they fit over them.

Here are some shots from a recent 10T build where I used the same technique:

This works fine with the MIP RC10 buggy steering kit as well. 8)

i used long 8/32 stainless screws on mine. i then slid over a piece of 3/16" aluminum tubing cut to 13/32" long to take place of the bearing post. then used 3/16" axle shims along with a 3/32 thin nut underneath to set proper height/bumpsteer adjustments. it works really good and with the stainless screws it's bulletproof.
