I snapped a few pics of my nearly complete 10T restore and felt like sharing. Well, not so much a restore than a rebuild of what it use to be. Here she is:

RPM Bumper

The trans needs new bearings real bad as well as bearings all around. The gears are still in great shape. All the shocks were rebuilt and filled with 30wt silicone. I have a Castle Creations Mamba kit to drop in it and an extra Spektrum Rx. I need some new wheels and tires too.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can get a 10T body? I was thinking of just getting a T2 lid but if I can get an original it would be great.

the black RPM adjustable body mount kits are still easy to come by Iff you want to replace the
homeade one

Many thanks. I have seen his lids and they do look impressive. I will PM him to see if he has any. If not, I may just go with a T2 lid. The rear franken mount was made for the T2 lid however that is long gone to the trash bin due to too many crashes back in the day. I have another 10T chassis somewhere in my storage shed I have been meaning to redo but I want to get this one done first. I thought I had a Mamba system in my electronics box but I remembered selling it to a friend of mine for his T3.

It's those times you get rid of stuff and later on you regret doing it. That's pretty much where I stand with RC. I've gotten rid of so much stuff over the years that I am now kicking myself for doing so. I'm glad I still have "some" stuff left and will get more in the future. Mental note to self: DO NOT GET RID OF ANYTHING ANY MORE!

Yes, I went a bit PRM crazy many moons ago. I'm excited to see it back in clean mint condition again. Brings back the memories. I recently obtained an old RC10 "A" chassis and another 10T roller for parts. Sells and trades should get my 10T and new 10T completed.

UPDATE:

Here are a few updated pics of my RC10T rebuild project. I added a few other things since the first set of images above. Swapped out the funky antenna mount for an original one, Shock soacks, new Speed Hawg meats on Proline wheels, swapped the 1/4" MIP CVD outdrives for T4 3/16" ones, added a T2 body, PureTech battery strap and modified the homemade rear body mount. I also added Acer bearings throughout. The RADON stock motor was gifted by a friend. I figure it will be good for now but given the track record of this motor, it will be replaced very soon. I have a Novak ESC layin around somewhere that will go in this. Enough talk, here are the pics:

what is the part number for the rear lid mounts? Where's best place to pick them up, on the bay?

Associated part number 7323. (Rear Body Mounts w/Screws Truck). $2.89 at Tower Hobby.

RPM part number 80542 for the adjustable mounts, however Tower no longer carries them. You have to buy direct from RPM (through Shopatron) or check Ebay. They use to sell for $6.95 but beware, Ebay prices will be much higher.

so did you get most of your RPM stuff directly through them? I want to restore my rc10t and yours looks really sharp...

All of the RPM parts you see on my RC10T were purchased and installed years ago. I purchased them through my local Hobby Shop when I was still living in New York. Best bet is Ebay, but I think most of the parts can be gotten at RPM's site.

tower looks like they pretty much have everything you got there except the body mounts. RPM has all the stuff too. truck look's good and real clean.

I am completely a newb, but what would you suggest for a spur gear and pinion for the conversion trans, and what would you suggest for a stock trans? Same motor setup that you are running etc... And does that equipment (spur/pinion) have to be assosiated or can it be anything?

and where do you get the little foam washers for the ball cups- do they come with the ball cups?

Enough to do a whole truck with some spares, but pick up two anyway, they are cheap.

Tower has the conversion kit (I just got one, waiting to dye the case soon), front and rear truck arms, wide and mini front bumpers, and the 'lifted' spring cups which appear to be there as well. The rear hub carriers they have are for giant rear bearings. They came out with them before Associated went to 3/16" axles, so they let you run much bigger, more durable bearings on the rear axles. They have different bearings available so you can still use them with the 3/16" axles.

On the RPM website, the only rear arm mounts they have are for the GT, which will fit the arms but might need some tweaking to fit the chassis (I'm sure it's been covered here before). The body mounts are also available there.

Are those shock socks by Badhorsie.com or are they another brand?

Savage shock socks off Ebay for the MGT. I like them because they are loose and baggy on 1/10th scale shocks and do not bind them like some others can.

I used to use those 'hotdog' balloons over my springs, but they broke down after a while where they rubbed on the springs. Maybe because I tucked them under the springs, instead of just wrapping them around the whole shock like that.

What kind of material are they made out of? My mother is a seamstress, I could get her to make some for me.
