Hey guys, I've never owned an associated before my T4. I'm going to start looking for one after christmas, no need for one right now. What's a good one to get. I know some are worth a hole bunch more i.e. edinger's. What should I look for? gold pan, black pan? Just something that would be cheap and fun I don't need the collectibles, I would rather leave those to you guys, cause I plan on beating the crap outta it. Thanks guys.

Then get th one car in the lineup that appeals to you the most! The stealth based cars are normally a little better driving cars than the 6 gears are

How do you know the difference between the stealth and the six gear? Are the six gear cases really square and the stealth more rounded and slimmer like a t4?

if you can find a old 6 gear with ball bearings thats a good buy, id go for it ..id stay away from bushing 6gear trannys. cause if you can find the bearing adaptor you need to run on them it can cost you $10-$15 then you still need to buy bearings!!!. i like to find a 6 gear with the narrow front end ,always think there the coolest 8)
2.25 stealth trans is the best!!!!! gold chassis is ok ,but id look for black chassis or a rc10 team car(team car has bearings )..stay away from "worlds car" they go for high $$$
if you dont mind getting a truck one of my favs is the rc10t ..and if you really want to run a crazy brushless set up in your old school ride i think the rc10t2 holds up best.. its a rc10t with a stronger metal chassis and uses the same trans gears/diff as the rc10gt ( 2.60 ratio)...
id stay away from the b2,b3,and t3.. not full metal chassis like the others and kinda the oddballs of rc10s (my opinion) ...i always see them as the cars that look like the b4 and t4 just not as good (my opinion)....
you can study here to find what you really want and what to look for http://www.theshreves.com/rc_stuff/rc10history.htm

Wow thanks longboard. That's a lot of info to skim through. I will have to just wait and see what's out there I guess.

Thanks for the link, really helpful!

I would just be patient and wait for that good deal to come. I was lucky enough to see one sitting in the backroom of a hobby shop. Offered him $20 for it and he accepted :D
