Here is my frog project, I wanted a nice scorcher but I really don't like the chassis, yes it is more scale but I want a runner. so I an using a Frog chassis. its a little dusty its been on the bench for a year, while I search for parts. who ever thought parts for a frog would be so hard to find? the next one will be started with a NIB kit. I am so done with restoring junk cars. thanks to the re-release of the Buggy Champ I scored a NIP set of rear wheels. I am still searching for the Fronts.

looking for paint ideas?

Its from my Losi XXX-S body mount, and a long threadded rod in the front mount.

Nice biuld. I did one based on the frog . I used a kamtec VW body and mounted it the same way. I painted it to look like the sand scorcher with decals from stickerbod on tamiya club. Ended up selling it on ebay .

I love it!

It seems like a no-brainer for Tamiya to release a Baja bug based on the Frog set up. With people converting Frogs, Monster Beetles, Blackfoots & Brats over the years, you'd think they would have picked up on the idea. The 'Scorcher/Monster Beetle/Blitzer bodies fit perfect.

CRP (on E-bay) might help with hop ups. I had their front suspension on mine back in the day along with their wheels.

I used to beat the snot out of mine and overhaul it every other time I ran it. (You can't kill those things) I don't think I ever broke anything.

Let's hope they follow through with a possible Sand Scorcher re-release. Maybe affordable super-detailed bodies will be available again soon.

Can't wait to see it finished, looks great so far!

So how much did you get for it on ebay- ballpark? Plus I wonder is there a way to mount the rear cage and exhaust to the frog chassis?

I don't remeber its been awhile. Buy the buyer got a great deal. It had ALL the crp hop ups plus parma front and rear shocks. I suppose you could make a cage for it somehow but I had the crp rear bumper on it. I wish I still had the car. The only pics I can find of the car are in my recovery section on tamiya club and when i try to enlarge them they get blurry. As some of the posts have said the VW body fits and mount very easy to the space frame chassis using stock tamiya parts. slotcarrod's looks almost identical to the one i did.
