Came across this weird thing going on with the waves..it was digging a hole then sucking the surrounding water into it..very strange..as you can see the beach was packed as usual..can you see the other person?..this is a great surfing beach called Tomahawk which is only a few minutes out of the centre of town..if crowds drive you nuts you should be here..

New Zealand is loaded with weird and wonderful stuff. Maybe its a blow hole?

Yep I guess you would be talking about the people right it's not a blow hole..I think it might have been what was left of a rip or hole..the sand was very soft around it..nature is the goods..

I know that holes like that can be created by animals that burrow like crabs. I haven't seen one that big before though.

I think I saw something about your beach in the movies "endless summer and endless summer 2". The guys are surfers and were very pleased with the beaches there.

Yep you could be right..we do have some of the most consistant surf anywhere..

Yeah I think that's it. It was how consistent the surf was. Wasn't the biggest waves or the best waves, but it was the frequency of really good waves that made it great. I'll have to watch those movies again this weekend and find out if that was it or not.

Did anybody notice in this pic that even though the water is churning... the water by Annette's feet it is almost calm...

Thats funny I have the same thing going on. but my sister went their two years ago, and keeps telling her and showing her pis of the great time they had their. I will be going when I have about 15grand to fill up a container to ship back to the states full of 70's Falcon and 351 cleveland parts!!!

Ok here you go...show her these pictures..tell her New Zealand might have beautiful scenery but this is how the people there live.....

Yeah that should do it...tell her everybody is far too busy taking in the views to do any housework so its a horrible place to live..
