It was supposed to be about 3 feet high but it didn't happen..we even took the dogs for a walk along the beach a few hours after it was supposed to hit.. there were some weird waves and surges...but nothing that unusual...turns out that we could still have been taken out just by the surges..how dumb was that..with the earth quake a few weeks ago and now this, New Zealand is becoming a bit like natures theme park..

On a sad note there were hundreds killed in the pacific islands by the same Tsunami may god rest their souls..

glad to hear yall made it out ok. i wondered if any of it was going to hit nz or au when i read it in the paper yesterday.

we aint seen nothing yet, the big ones coming!!!!!!!!

I don't know what we've done..we are in for another big dump of snow this weekend. In Queenstown which is our main alpine city had it's biggest dump of snow for the year last weekend. At the moment the unusual thing is that all of the road closures are in the north island..very strange because normally the south island gets the brunt of the snow.
