My Son and his first RC10

Got a nice deal on a #6010 with extra parts. So I am rebuilding it so I can run it with my 2 year old son that is really exited with all my cars. Everything will be original except I am using a Stealth tranny and some updated black parts.

So, let the tear down / built up begin.

- don’t worry, the white andy’s arms are not going on any runner, for the moment.

Are the Andy's arms rare? I'm in the process of building a dirt oval runner and was just about to mount up a set on the rear but I may put them on my graphite/MIP tranny car which will only see the shelf if they are.

I haven’t seen any NIP. I believe they are hard to find, RPM made some similar ones but the ones that actually say Andy’s on the arm are rare.

Update,
The car is ready and running, it is sporting a Futaba Magnum Sport radio, a Novak 610-RV with a Tamiya sport tuned RS-540 motor (this one is for my kids to learn, so it will be taking a lot of batteries with out a lot of cleaning (I think this motor can take a beating). This car can move.

We are working on a Viper body for it. My Kid wants flames. We will se how that comes out. :D

The kids love it, they are still young (3 and 4) but they see me working on the cars all the time so I wanted to get them to start using one I actually work on instead of the toys they sell at The Mart.

The only problem I am having is holding my self from cringing every time they hit the curb at full speed.

I put the original beat up body on it and took it for a spin with my Son. This car can take a beating, especially with this bumper.

The video below might not be appropriate for the RC10 lovers out their. Remember the car is built with some old beat up parts.

In case you wander we got some spangles going on the video, we speak Spanish in the house and the kids got the English going from school.

We are going to paint a new viper body that someone sat on, so it is not in perfect conditions but it will be Ok for this car.

It is part of my policy. You break it, you at least try to fix it and then I fix it.

He got up this morning all exited and wanted to take it outside for a spin. :D

Excellent stuff... good to see an RC10 being used! Get them young - you never know he might be the next Massami or Jammi Jay

LOL, today on his second ride we lost a arm  . It was a sour moment for me but at least he tried to fix it.

I have an extra set (that had other plans) but they are going to get a beating now, lets see.

This car is all about FUN.

It's great to see the little ones getting involved in repair and maintenance, but you should consider getting that young man some better tools.
