RC10/T Bulkhead & Suspension Questions

Is it possible to mount a 10T front bulkhead and arms on a buggy chassis without cutting? Or will the arm mounting points not clear the wider nose? And since the 10T only uses four holes instead of six, do all four line up?

And will 10T front arms fit a buggy chassis with buggy front suspension mounts?

Use the truck nose piece (narrower) and it will work fine.
And no, the truck bulkhead will not fit the buggy nose.

I should have known. :(

I actually looking to find a one-piece 10T carbon chassis, so swapping noses may not be an option. But things may change depending on what I can find.

Does anyone know if the 10T front arms will fit the buggy suspension mounts? I haven't ordered my truck parts yet, so I have nothing to compare with.

10t arms will fit on buggy mounts (with the use of a spacer to take up the slop), but the front end is gonna be wicked wide.

Thanks again, scr8p!

One more question...will the holes on a 10T shock tower line up with the holes on the buggy suspension mounts?

The reason for all these questions is because I'm starting a carpet oval 10T build, but I have only buggy chassis' and noses at the moment. Until I find a Composite Craft LTO or double-decker graphite chassis, I may just try to use a combo of buggy and truck parts for the front suspension.

nope.

when you say buggy chassis', do you mean tubs or one piece graphite buggy chassis'? tubs are all the same, so there's no issue there. 10t noseplate can easily be found on ebay. i believe there's some gpm 10t/gt noseplates on there right now for like $15 or something like that. or since your planning on runnnig the truck, look around for a complete used front end.

now if you have a one piece buggy chassis you wanted to use, you could just alter the kickup to accept the 10t bulkhead. but remember, a buggy chassis is shorter than a 10t chassis. that might be frowned upon depending where you race.

the best way to go would be waiting for a 10t lto chassis to come along. alot less hassles. but there are plenty of other ways you could go. personally, i'd find a 10t/gt noseplate, and a 2.25 kranzels terminator chassis. the noseplate will bolt right up to it, although you will have to drill some holes in the chassis to attach some nose brace tube mounts to it. and the trans holes will already flipped around to run it mid motor.

Thanks again, scr8p!

I actually have two one-piece graphite buggy chassis', one LTO and one regular. So that's why I'm asking about the truck front suspension compatibility.

I'm aware that the tubs are the same and the noses are different, but I was hoping to use one of the buggy chassis I already have.

I'll just keep a look out for a Composite Craft LTO truck chassis, that way things will be much simpler. Or if I find a beat up tub and truck nose cheap, I'll just powdercoat them myself and go that route.

Dave, I run a Kranzel's 10T based truck like scr8p described. I bet if you posted a wanted ad on dirtoval.com com you could find an original kranzel's RC10 terminator chassis plate for really cheap. It makes for a really nice oval truck, especially on carpet. Here's some pics of mine with factory works shock towers.

the other choice would be to roll your own, with a flat sheet for the chassis, and use a narrow 10T noseplate. I'm sure you could sell off the composite chassis' and flip the money into some blank sheet.

nice rear arm mounts, who makes em?

those are the GPM ones that were blown out on Liquid RC a few years ago, I bought a few sets, and ended up selling a couple of the sets to people that needed them,,, now I wish I had them for other projects!

As far as making your own chassis check out my build thread in the Truck section.
