Ok, so this has been a complaint of mine for a while now. When cruising the bay or craigslist or whatever, I see the word VINTAGE pop up everywhere. I think people have gotten too liberal with the word. There have been on plenty of occassions when I see the word VINTAGE and when I click the link it's clearly just a pile of old sh--. Anyone else ever been dissappointed with a advertisement for VINTAGE stuff? LOL
Believe me. I wish I had more VINTAGE stuff in my garage and not just piles of old sh--! LOL

You get double the miles if what you have is a "vintage POS"

This is the reason I stopped using Vintage as a keyword in searchs.

Rare, hard to find mints? I think I'll pass, thanks, fresh mints are better.

i search for it, knowing that anybody who knows anything is gonna put 'vintage' in their listings...
you get alot of junk, but alot of cool stuff is listed as vintage... and i'm sure i'm not the only one who can scan a page of ebay listings just as fast as scrolling down will allow.

Followed by "due to the nature of this hobby items are sold as is", ie it's actually a piece of crap and if you get sucked into buying it bad luck

Near mint is a correct term to use. As a philatelist, we use this term often. It is as close to mint as possible with only a minor flaw or two, and we are very fussy! Mint is mint!
